Frank named United Way board president

Walter Frank recently was named president of Routt County United Way’s board of directors. Frank, who moved to Steamboat in July 1991, is controller for the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. He is married to Nancy Trimmer.

Frank is a certified public accountant, a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, the Northwest Colorado Society of CPAs and the Steamboat Ski Scholarship Committee.

Wade joins Colorado Group Realty

Jon Wade has joined Colorado Group Realty as a broker associate. He has a business finance degree from the University of Colorado, and he worked for Hewlett Packard for 15 years. His role included competitive analysis, strategic planning, partnership and product development in the digital camera and printing groups.

“We have been coming to Steamboat for 19 years and already lived here about three to four months a year. Like everyone, we wanted our kids to grow up in Steamboat,” Wade said. “I chose real estate because I love working with people and want to help others find their dreams in Steamboat.”

Sleeping Giant Insurance merges

Sleeping Giant Insurance of Steamboat Springs has announced that it has merged with Brown & Brown Inc., the nation’s seventh-largest insurance intermediary. Brown & Brown is based in Daytona Beach, Fla., and Tampa, Fla., and has an office in Steamboat.

Linda Fossi-Williams, president of The Fossi Group Inc., doing business as Sleeping Giant Agency, and Scott Mayor, local branch manager of Brown & Brown, made the announcement.

Sleeping Giant Agency/Brown & Brown will remain in its present location at 1120 S. Lincoln Ave. until the new Brown & Brown building at 2130 Resort Drive is completed in November.
