Motorists should expect delays on US 40 in West Steamboat

Colorado Department of Transportation and Flat Iron Construction crews have begun grinding the roadway to install inlaid epoxy traffic markings as part of the last portion of U.S. Highway 40 improvement project in West Steamboat. This work requires traffic slowing and single-lane, alternating traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and until noon Friday, June 15. These operations could also require a half-night closure of the intersection of U.S. 40 and Elk River Road at some point.

Yampatika seeks volunteers for programs; training provided

Yampatika is seeking volunteers to help support naturalists leading summer environmental education programs. Volunteers help with geology and wildflower walks, as well as interpretive walks at Fish Creek Falls. They do not lead programs but rather provide support, so no experience or environmental education credentials are required.

Volunteers typically support the naturalist leading a program by greeting and talking to participants, being friendly and encouraging, staying at the back of the group to ensure the group stays together, learning about and enjoying the outdoors and taking photos to share on social media after the program

To sign up for volunteer training on June 20, visit yampatika.org/get-involved/volunteer.
