Dog house awards given
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council has announced the winners of the Dog House as Public Art — People’s Choice Award.
First Place: Scavenger Hunt Dog House, designed & built by the Sherrod/Grimaldi Family Cooperative
Second Place: Canine Cabana, designed & built by Jan Cohen
Third Place: K-9 Castle Kit, designed & built by Nils Thunstrom.
3-Wire to play the Hoedown

Local folk/bluegrass band, 3 Wire, will play the Hoedown on Sept. 20 at Lodore Hall in Browns Park, hosted by the Browns Hole Homemakers Club. Dinner is $5 and will be served at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
is Latin Night
RG’S Dance Club will be closed tonight. The club will be open for Latin Night from 8 to 10 p.m. Wednesday. The Center for Movement Arts has scheduled yoga classes with Jeanne Upbin at 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and yoga for active seniors from 11 a.m. to noon Thursdays.
A new session of belly dance with Molly Mintun also is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Mondays. Call 870-9977.
Arts Council seeks artists
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is accepting applications from Colorado artists for a one-person or small group show at the Eleanor Bliss Center for the Arts at the Depot. Exhibit dates are Feb. 13 to March 21.
Dates for private exhibits in the Small Works Gallery will be determined in August. E-mail email@example.com or call 879-9008 for entry guidelines. Proposals are due by Oct. 1.
Tread displays weddings
The exhibits “A Century of Valley Vows: A Community Exhibit” and “Foundations of Steamboat: The Gossard Family” are on display at the Tread of Pioneers Museum. The exhibit traces the traditions, people and attire from weddings in Routt County over the past century.
Riverhouse gallery open
