Success Steps seminars changing venue
For the past several years, the Colorado Mountain College Small Business Resource Center has hosted a series of breakfast seminars on topics of importance to the community’s small businesses and entrepreneurs. Starting in January, the Success Steps seminars will be held the second Thursday of each month at Steamboat Smokehouse, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Jan. 10 program is titled “Business Valuation: Understanding Key Issues When Buying or Selling a Business,” and will be led by Randy Rudasics, director of CMC’s Small Business Resource Center. The $15 seminar fee includes a buffet lunch.
Topics will include factors to consider before putting your business up for sale, critical factors to evaluate when considering buying a business, principles of valuation and common characteristics and terms for business sales agreements. Attendance is recommended for individuals who are thinking of buying or selling a business in the next few years.
The Success Steps seminar series is a collaborative effort between the Small Business Resource Center, Yampa Valley SCORE and the Routt County Economic Development Cooperative. For more information, call Randy Rudasics at 870-4491.

Beginning April 7, SkyWest Airlines will operate thrice-daily jet service between Denver and Yampa Valley Regional Airport, Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. announced Wednesday.
The new flights, which will provide year-round jet service at YVRA for the first time, will increase the number of off-season seats by one-third. In previous years, only turboprop service has been available in the spring, summer and fall.
Although not all details of the service have been finalized, the nonstop flights are expected to be aboard Canadair Regional Jets, carrying between 70 and 90 passengers, Airport Manager Dave Ruppel said.
