Bear river master plan online survey closes Monday

The city of Steamboat Springs, in conjunction with the National Parks Services, is working to update the Bear River Park Master Plan and has launched an online portal at which the public can access additional information on the project and provide feedback regarding future uses.

Community members who are interested in learning more about the project and would like to provide feedback are encouraged to visit bearriverpark.com and take a short online survey. The survey will remain open through Monday, March 14.

Once the survey closes, the city of Steamboat Springs will review all public comments and draft two conceptual plans that will be presented during the next public meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, March 23.

The goal of this planning effort is to create a viable, financially feasible master plan for the site and to guide the next phase of improvements to the park. This plan is an update to the 2004 park master plan and will incorporate the most efficient, sustainable and desirable uses of the park space, through extensive community participation.

The end result will be a park that is consistently used by a diverse array of park users and will be one that is supported and stewarded by the community.
