WESTFEST CONTINUES AT 11 A.M. TODAY

WestFest continues today with Annie and Amy for a warm up from 11 to 11:30 a.m.; Michael Martin Murphey from 11:30 to 11:50 a.m.; Eddie Three Eagles from 11:50 to 12:05 p.m.; Led Stetson from 12:10 to 12:35 p.m.; Indian dancers from 12:40 to 12:55 p.m. in Torian Plum Plaza; Red Steagall from 12:55 to 1:45 p.m.; Shawn Colvin from 2:05 to 3:10 p.m.; Eddie Three Eagles from 3:10 to 3:25 p.m. in the Strings Tent; Hot Club of Cowtown from 3:25 to 4:25 p.m.; Ricky Skaggs from 4:35 to 5:45 p.m.; Michael Martin Murphey from 5:55 to 7:30 p.m.

Gates open at 11 a.m. and music and vendors entertain until 7 p.m. at Torian Plum Plaza at the base of Mount Werner. Times are subject to change. VINTAGE FLY-IN AT AIRPORT CONTINUES

Vintage Aircraft Fly-In continues from 9 a.m. to noon today at the Steamboat Springs Airport. The fly-in features vintage, home-built, business, personal and life-saving search and rescue aircrafts from many different eras.

HOWLER SLIDE OPEN ONLY ON WEEKENDS

The Howler Alpine Slide is now open only on weekends through Sept. 30 at the base of the Barrows chairlift at Howelsen Hill. Adult single rides are $8, two rides for $12 or five rides for $20. Children single rides are $7, two rides for $12, five rides for $15. Children 3-6 can ride for free with a parent/guardian; children 2 and under cannot ride the slide. TAKE A HIKE TO THE MAD CREEK BARN

Partners in Interpretation presents a free hike to the Forest Service’s Mad Creek Barn to see the new renovations to the historical structure from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The hike continues every Thursday with varying times from now until Sept. 27, including an extra hike Sept. 15. Good hiking shoes, water and rain gear are essential. The hike is 4 miles round trip and is an easy to moderately strenuous walk. Keep posted for the weekly times in 4-Points or call 871-9151 for more information and for reservations.

THONG THURSDAY STILL GOING STRONG

The Steamboat Grand invites the community to a pool party from 3:30 p.m. until dusk every Thursday at poolside. Make it a Thong Thursday with prizes for the most creative slippers and flip-flops. Great music will accompany poolside food and drink specials, ranging from $1 to $3. Tourists and locals are welcome. Gates open at 3 p.m. Bring your suit and towel because whether it’s rain, snow or shine, the whirlpools will be bubbling and the grill will be hot. Call 871-5500 for more information.
