Soroco parent group selling cookbooks

The Soroco Parent Teacher Organization has published a cookbook called “A Taste of History.” The hardbound book includes five pages of South Routt history, 280 recipes from local residents and historical photos. Horizons needs volunteers to ski with clients

Horizons Specialized Services has opportunities for volunteers to ski, snowboard and/or snowshoe with clients on Saturday afternoons from late January through mid-March. Volunteers will receive complimentary lift tickets to the Steamboat Ski Area as well as the gift of joy reflected in the clients’ eyes. There are also opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on Thursday afternoons. Call Bette Carlson at 879-4466, ext. 111.

Laurie Berkner concert tickets on sale now

Individual tickets for the Laurie Berkner concert are on sale now through Steamboat Central Reservations, 879-0740 or http://www.steamboat.com. The Jan. 14 concert is the children’s music artist’s only Colorado appearance this winter. The event is part of the Nickelodeon and Steamboat Family Snow Festival. Tickets are $25 for adults and children three and older. Children two and younger will be admitted for free.

Winter Carnival street event registration Feb. 1

Registration for the 94th annual Winter Carnival street events opens Feb. 1 at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association visitors center at 1255 S. Lincoln Ave. The visitors center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The Winter Carnival street events will take place Feb. 10 and 11.
