Annual Gardening 101 returns to the library







Bud Werner Memorial Library is teaming up the Routt County CSU Master Gardeners and Routt County CSU Extension to offer the annual Gardening 101 series at the library.

Master Gardeners share two free nights of expert gardening advice at 6:30 p.m. May 16 and 19 in Library Hall.

The programs are to help the community plan and maximize summer gardens and will deal with the best use of Northwestern Colorado’s short growing season.

During the May 16 session, Master Gardeners will discuss essential aspects of building and maintaining a garden and answer questions.

Topics will include the following.

On May 19, the Master Gardeners will return for a night of hands-on demonstrations.

Demos will include seed starting, square foot gardening, transplanting, soil sampling, salad bowl gardens and other container gardens

Routt County CSU Extension’s soil sample kits will be available for purchase, as well.
