Steamboat’s discounted airfares are incentive for November bookings
November 12, 2012
Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Ski Area has launched an airfare program designed to encourage travelers in specific cities to book ski vacations before the end of November.
Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. announced Nov. 8 roundtrip fares of less than $415 and as low as $300 from 28 cities to Yampa Valley Regional Airport west of Steamboat Springs. The airfares must be booked by Nov. 30 and come with the additional incentive of 20 percent discounts on lifts and lodging, according to a news release from Ski Corp.
The fares include airline hub like Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Houston, Minneapolis and Newark that offer nonstop service in to YVRA. But they also apply to large and medium-sized cities that require a connecting flight. Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Detroit, St. Louis and Boston are among the big cities on the list. Smaller cities include Pensacola, Sarasota and Tallahassee in Florida; Austin, Texas; and Birmingham, Ala.
The lowest promotional airfare is $150 per leg from Minneapolis-St. Paul on Delta Airlines. Washington, D.C., at $175, and New York, at $205 per leg, for example, are relative values for those destinations.
The fares require a minimum two-night or Saturday night stay. Depending upon the city of origin, availability for specific cities is limited to a date range. For example, discounted fares from Atlanta are for the travel period Dec. 24 through March 31, 2013.
