Steamboat Springs — Editor’s note: The times of the events have been corrected below.
They rev down the cusp of Rabbit Ears Pass by the hundreds, and each supercharged engine roars the same message: It's that time of year again. The 25th annual Mustang Roundup returns Thursday to Sunday to the Yampa Valley, promising to make Steamboat Springs a vehicular paradise.
"It's a tradition in Steamboat now," said Linda Schwanke, special events and sponsorship director at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association.
The festivities open to the public begin with the autocross from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday in Meadows Parking Lot. More than 180 Mustangs will compete in the timed racing event. On Saturday, more than 450 Mustangs will be put on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Lincoln Avenue for the Show 'n' Shine.
Schwanke is excited "to get to see how passionate the owners are about their cars.”
