Steamboat briefs for Nov. 20
November 20, 2008
City, county planning commissions meet tonight
The city of Steamboat Springs and Routt County planning commissions meet at 6 p.m. today, and significant items are on both bodies’ agendas.
At Centennial Hall, city planning commissioners will consider two pre-applications from developers who hope to have their projects annexed into city limits. The developers of the proposed master-planned community 360 Village have presented a pre-application for 110 acres. The project site lies north of U.S. Highway 40 west of Routt County subdivisions Silver Spur and Steamboat II.
The second pre-application is for the proposed Bridges at Steamboat project totaling about 37 acres. The same developers behind 360 Village have partnered with Yampa Valley Medical Center for a project that envisions a senior living campus and other mixed-use development.
In the Commissioners’ Hearing Room at the historic Routt County Courthouse, the Routt County Planning Commission will hold a meeting about proposed revisions to the Routt County Zoning and Subdivision Regulations.
The proposed amendments include minor “housekeeping” items and technical corrections, a new Routt County Planning Department fee schedule, and new definitions and standards for potential land uses related to energy development. For example, the county will consider defining “wind generator” in its regulations for the first time; the amendments also include definitions and standards for “temporary work force housing” that might accompany oil and gas development.
