Steamboat Springs — Donations sought for Naused family
A donation account for the Naused family has been set up at Vectra Bank. Heathre Naused was seriously injured in a car accident in the canyon near Oak Creek on Nov. 14, when she was more than nine months pregnant. The newborn child, Alex, was successfully delivered and released from a hospital in Denver, where Heathre is expected to require another 3 weeks of care.

The Routt County Road and Bridge Department will close Routt County Road 14, known as River Road, between the Brooklyn and Tree Haus neighborhoods from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 7:30 a.m. to noon Friday.
The closures will allow Yampa Valley Electric Association crews to replace power lines in the area. Call the department at 879-0831 with questions or concerns.

Library’s Food for Fines program under way
Do your children have overdue fines at Bud Werner Memorial Library? During December, children can “pay” off their fines while helping local families in need by participating in the library’s annual Food for Fines Program. For every can of food children bring in to the library, the library will cancel $1 of their overdue fines, up to $10. Non-perishable items such as toothpaste and diapers are accepted, too. All items will be donated to the LIFT-UP Food Bank. This program is for children 17 and younger, and it takes place only during December.
