Steamboat Springs — Horizons needs volunteers for its ski and winter sports program. This is the 31st year Horizons, Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. and volunteers from the community have partnered to provide the winter sports program for individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a great opportunity to get involved, meet some wonderful people and spend seven Saturday afternoons this winter helping Horizons clients enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Steamboat Lions Club looking for volunteers

The Steamboat Lions Club needs volunteers for its Christmas tree sale. Volunteers are needed from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. Call Del at 879-5853.

Home ReSource offering free holiday decorations

Home ReSource is offering a variety of free holiday season decorations to local families. Items include artificial Christmas trees, new and used indoor lights, and other outdoor decorations and lights. The decorations can be picked up and/or delivered the week of Dec. 3. Call Rich at the Community Alliance of the Yampa Valley at 846-8488 to schedule a time. Additional donations of holiday decorations are welcome.

Pregnancy Resource Center needs baby clothes

The Steamboat Springs Pregnancy Resource Center is in need of slightly used or new baby clothes and other used baby items for children up to age 2. Winter items are especially needed. Donations can be dropped off on Tuesdays from noon to 6 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 544 Oak St. Call 871-1307.

Free maps available for Routt National Forest

New maps showing motorized routes on the Routt National Forest now are available free of charge at U.S. Forest Service offices in Steamboat Springs, Yampa, Kremmling and Walden, and the Forest supervisor’s office in Laramie, Wyo.
