Steamboat Springs School Board meets tonight
Steamboat SpringsSteamboat Springs — The Steamboat Springs School Board will conduct action tonight including an accreditation review; presentation of financial statements; selection of three consulting firms for presentations regarding a superintendent search; approval of general fund supplemental budget; action regarding compensation for former acting superintendent Dale Mellor; approval of school improvement plans, and more. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in Centennial Hall on 10th Street. Horizons seeks volunteers for winter ski program
Horizons needs volunteers for its ski and winter sports program. This is the 31st year Horizons, Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. and volunteers from the community have partnered to provide the winter sports program for individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a great opportunity to get involved, meet some wonderful people and spend seven Saturday afternoons this winter helping Horizons clients enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Call 879-2065, ext. 110 to volunteer or to get more information.
Registration time for winter rec leagues
An official with the Steamboat Springs Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department said Thursday is the registration and payment deadline for teams wishing to play in upcoming adult basketball and indoor soccer leagues. Teams who intend to play this winter must submit all fees to the office at 245 Howelsen Parkway by 5 p.m. Thursday. Returning teams from 2006-07 will be given first priority into a league, pending they pay and register by the deadline. New teams will be let into a league according to available space, in the order that complete payment is received. Call 879-4300 with questions.
