Steamboat Springs — Sharon Stone is coming back to western Steamboat Springs, and she’s ecstatic.
The former owner of Sharon’s, a home-cooking joint, plans to start serving breakfast seven days a week at Pisa’s Pizza and Pasta in Riverside Plaza. Her menu includes a $1 pancake and a $2.50 breakfast burrito, and the most expensive item is a steak and eggs plate for $9.95. The restaurant, Sharon’s at Pisa’s, is scheduled to open Friday morning.
“In this economy, I think what we need is a fun place that’s reasonable,” Stone said.
Pisa’s owners, Chris, Nancy and Bill Hebrank, have been a big help, she said. Pisa’s will continue to offer its regular lunch and dinner menu. Chris Hebrank said he thought that western Steamboat needed a breakfast spot and that Stone had the experience to make it work.
“It’s local prices for local people,” Hebrank said.
He and his parents have owned Pisa’s for four years.

Stone said Sharon’s at Pisa’s would serve in the dining room as well as do takeout and delivery for western Steamboat and downtown. Stone will offer traditional items such as eggs, hash browns, French toast (made with homemade bread), and biscuits and gravy. She’ll also have a doughnut shop at the spot.
Stone ran the City Cafe for two years until the city gave the contract to Olivia Murray, who took over this month. Stone also has her own catering business, Sharon’s Catering.
“I cater everything now: lunches, barbecues, wedding receptions,” Stone said.
She knew she wanted to return to the edge of town.
“When I lost the cafe, I was looking for a place to work, and I wanted to buy Pisa’s,” Stone said. “I wanted a restaurant in west Steamboat again.”
Her previous restaurant, Sharon’s, served home-style meals targeted toward locals. That opened April 11, 1988, and closed in 1996 or 1997, Stone said.
With the new breakfast focus, she hopes to snag locals who work in the area, as well as commuters entering town. Sharon’s at Pisa’s is scheduled to open at 5:30 a.m. Friday.
“It was such a dream come true, and I’m so excited about it,” Stone said.
