National and international musicians headline Old Town Pub on Friday

Steamboat Springs — Old Town Pub will welcome an eclectic mix of musicians from a variety of bands this weekend.
In addition to the two individuals originally from the United Kingdom, guest appearances from Euforquestra member Mike Tallman will play guitar, Kinetix member Josh Fairman will play bass, Cody Schlueter from Atomga will be the percussionist and George Horn from Kinetix will be on drums.
"This is really going to be a great jam set," Tatton said over the phone while taking a break on the slopes in Vail before their show at the Shakedown Bar on Thursday night. "I'm especially excited to do a performance with some new players."
Rodina formed in Europe but emerged from a studio project in Denver in 2012 when Tatton met Fairman, who also is a recording engineer. Tatton has toured the U.S., Europe and Japan throughout the past nine years with a variety of musicians, but he has been with Rodina for about five years.
This kind of transatlantic jam fusion, Tatton said, incorporates the best of Colorado's funk and reggae influenced music.

"I love the fact that this is the kind of music people can dance to but as a performer you still have the chance to build and improvise," Tatton said.
Although Tatton was in Steamboat a few years ago at the Old Town Pub and Ghost Ranch, he said this lineup is completely different.
"I think it's a pretty intriguing group of musicians that will come together to throw in different varieties to form this unique lineup," said Sean Regan, manager at Old Town Pub.
A few Rodina albums include "Rodina and the Wolf," their debut album "Over the Sun" released in 2008, "Hypnotize" an EP made at Fairman and Scanlon's studio in Colorado, and "Home" their most recent endeavor.
"Steamboat is so down to earth and we just love it there," Tatton said. "We really look forward to coming back to a place we love."
The cover charge at the 21 and older show is $5.
