– United Methodist Church of Steamboat Springs holds an Easter sunrise service at 6:45 a.m. at Thunderhead at the top of the Steamboat Ski Area gondola. Free gondola service begins at 6 a.m. and is limited to 500 people. Free parking will be available in the Gondola Square parking garage. Those who want to ski after the service need a lift ticket. – The city of Steamboat Springs’ 34th annual Easter egg hunt begins at 11 a.m. today at Howelsen Hill. Grand Futures Prevention Coalition is presenting the hunt, which includes about 5,000 eggs to be found by children 9 years old and younger. After the Easter Bunny rides the Barrows Chairlift down the hill to greet youngsters, there will be opportunities to take free family photos courtesy of NRC Broadcasting. Participants should take their own baskets and mud boots.

A children’s egg hunt starts at 11 a.m., with prizes for first, second and third place. Check-in for a scavenger hunt and adult egg hunt is at 2 p.m. at Black Mountain Tavern. The restaurant also hosts a raffle drawing at 6 p.m. with prizes donated by local businesses. Participants must be present to win prizes. All events are free and open to the public.
