Clearly Cypress Mountain has had a tough year. Besides the moguls course — which looks to be in good shape — the rest of the mountain is bare with brown spots. The weather could play a big factor in today's event. It's gone from blowing rain, to blowing snow, to nothing, to just rain and to just wind. Should be interesting to see what the conditions are like when the event begins in about an hour. Here's a look at the start list for the American women: 8. Michelle Roark 10. Hannah Kearney 17. Heather McPhie 27. Shannon Bahrke
All four women should have a shot at today's podium. Reigning champion Canada's Jennifer Heil is the favorite. Also watch out for Japan's Aiko Uemura.
