This election saw many people attempting to influence votes on many issues.Normal election chatter?Not in my opinion.This very article shows the interest of certin party's to "over-influence' their own agenda in extreme and disgusting ways. Ex waitresses donning Pilot hats and scrounging votes like aluminum cans for recycling.Gleening every last one ,till they know that they have enough.I guess the Guest Worker Program hasnt hurt the restraunt industry as it has others.The employers that you rallie for ,are seemingly systemically ruining the locals now they want us want to pay this extra tax.This ski industry town has turned its back on the locals for money(profit) earned by hiring foriegn workers over Routt County residents,to save money on taxes paid on workers(we cost more to hire ,taxes).Now they are taxing shoppers that they don't hire, to suppliment the airlines ,to make their own business better.They also fly those temporary workers from other county's in on those flights?Nice people that come,but they are only supposed to be here if there are extra jobs,not replace us.Obama and all the DORKS in washington wont end the Visa Guest Worker Program for some reason.How about the employers doing it on their own?On your own you have hired a "Gang of pilot hatted know it all 's" to go out and force the vote they want(people probably voted like they said just to shut them up"hire locals We wont shop in your town,pay your tax,make you wealthier,UNLESS YOU DO IT! This is a list of the people I consider to have been unethical in this last election,funny the only one accused (the medical mj.director for the state)has been transfered to the Depeartment of racing,but the rest of you bullies are running around Scott Free.!PilotOpinion writers in Our View(too many instances to name them all)2.Routt county comish,3.Sherrif dept,4.Steamboat Police Dept.Ski Area paying off this "Gang" of Pilot capped" Savvy" restraunt workers to shove this tax on many poor people that will have pay it,some out of town ,not offered the vote and we shop in Steamboat,Craig is betet shopping anyway and hires Americans..You are not Savvy in my book.Disgusting is more like it.Unethical is what the others mentioned are.Public servants should not ram political nonsense down throats and neither should a newspaper.Also, turn back on my comments button,quit harrassing me for speaking the truth about the Steamboat Pilot and Today.

The committee that succeeded in persuading Steamboat voters to impose a 0.25 percent sales tax on themselves to bolster the ski season jet program got it done with a mix of old-school campaigning, savvy use of social media and a good dose of unabashed shtick.
