The CORNBREAD?????? WHO ? The original Cornbread came to and played in Steamboat Springs and Oak Creek in 1972. It was run by players Red Hoover (deceased), Spider Michael James and Leo Washboard Thomas. The y were with us mostly from 1972 to 1975. And some later visits. THEY OPENED WITH PROFESSOR LONGHAIR FOR MARDI GRAS , they recorded albums and were THE FINEST BLUEGRASS MUSICIANS EVER TO COME TO OAK CREEK AND STEAMBOAT.(. LEO Washboard Thomas is still quite active. )
IT is a shame to see their name copied in the area that they performed in years back...it should be left to them out of respect. I hope no one mistakes the new "cornbread" for THE ORIGINAL CORNBREAD- again, masters in their music, as there is NO comparison in talent The originals set the early settlers family descendants on fire with their music ...many a night at the Crawford's historical home was shared in very intense connection because of the amazing. CORNBREAD...the originals...not this new group. Sad to see this going on.....

Red's last name was Weaver, not Hoover. He was killed in a hit-and-run.
