Engle, you have to be kidding. Take responsibility for your own child. He didn't graduate because of his actions and your parenting. Mike, keep holding your head up high. I know how much you care about the kids. The school won't be the same without you.

Mike has done an excellent job as a principal. The same few people complain over and over because they don't get their way. Sad that 5% of the people who are always negative and get along with very few people are the ones who get their way instead of the rest of us that know that Mike has made decisions in the best interest of the students.

The parents at the board meeting spoke very highly of Mike. Kids are kids and some will get in trouble and because of that not like the principal or assisstant principal. This forum is filled with people who complain, complain, complain. The mountain isn't opening, traffic is bad, they don't get a free ski pass.... The people who spoke at the board meeting showed that most people in this town aren't negative and that this blog isn't a reflection of the town's thoughts, but just those who always have something they are upset about.

Crossan and Anderson obviously have a hidden agenda. Symser's recommendation was to extend the contract and they voted against it. What a mistake it was voting them onto the board.

If you worked in the high school, you would know that staff has left for a variety of reasons: pregnancy, retirement, better pay, family relocation, more opportunities on the front range, and not wanting to work for a school district that is constantly involved in controversy. The turn over rate is exaggerated and not caused by Mike. Yes, Mike is passionate about issues involving students. Would you want a principal who could care less? He can't appease every parent group that wants to decide how the building should be run, but he is always willing to listen to viewpoints and consider varying opinions when deciding what is best for ALL students. The parents of gifted children should note how many more Advanced Placement classes Mike has added in the last few years. Mike should be allowed to stay and work WITH the board and new superintendent.

Sounds to me like it's working if it is slowing things down. It should be slooooooow in a school parking lot.

jqpublic wants to stay annoymous so that he/she doesn't get persecuted but is ok with persecuting others. Hmmmm. The hateful messages offer no positive value and are actually hurting the community. The comments remind me of junior high slam books. Take Devins' suggestion and get rid of the anonimity option. The paper will seem less like the National Enquirer. The Rocky Mountain News isn't printed for just a small town so their on-line dialogue is probably quite different.

How ridiculous to suggest that the tragedy could have been prevented if the fund board allocated money to neighboring districts. This is truly a stretch.

Gwen is obviously clueless. Is she new to town? She clearly doesn't know the history of the school district.

Board members, administrators, parents, and teachers need to start focusing on kids and stop attacking each other.

The kids in the SSSD are out performing just about every other district in the state.

There are so many great things going on in the school district, but all we ever hear about is conflict.
