Thank you Candice for a wonderful article on my Aunt Dorothy. She truly was the
1st lady of Steamboat Springs.
I agree with Bill! Steamboat needs a voice with intelligence back on city council, so Meg please run again!
Great write up about an outstanding ski jumper and wonderful human being. You were in my Art class way back in like 1984 at S.S.H.S. You were traveling all the time to European ski jumping meets and you always sent me a post card (which I required) from your exotic locations.
One time you came home with a bunch of new ski equipment and I got a pair of downhill Elon
skis that I paid you something like $100. for. Funny, I still have them 28 years later.
You always had a smile on your face and were very humble young man.
Congratulations on many successful years of running your own company in Steamboat.
Keep up the great traditions with your kids.
Congratulations Nelson! Can't think of anyone more deserving that you for this award.
Can't wait to see your finished product our and about. TW
Thanks Tom for your encouraging words. Will miss the parade this year but who knows, maybe next year.
There are many more famous actors who attended PM back when including:
Rue McClanahan, Heather MacCrea, Barbara Hope, , Jessica James, Missi Jones,
Rita Williams, Don Henderson, and Kay Henderson to name a few.
Who ever says that the Cardboard Classic is only 33 years old then they weren't around when the 1st one that I remember was in 1975. Please update and correct your dates!!
One of the best letters I read to the Pilot! Brilliant comparison to the past and today's
sick minds. Bravo Richard!
Great write up about Steamboat's past and blending in with today. Thanks!
Wouldn't it be great if the Steamboat Springs High School band would/could wear skis while performing in Disneyland? They did this in Chicago in the summer time with rollers on their skis around 1949 I believe. Best of luck! Of course I was too young for this just saw a wonderful photo of the band marching down Mich. ave.
