i'm guess i'm glad you think it's "alright" that we have a turf field. the reasons for the field being put in - athletes not traveling as much, local games, etc. were hashed out more than a year ago and were the reason so many people donated so much time and money to make it a reality. that's not the issue now. the issue now is why it's not ready to be used and spring sports are starting. now that would be an interesting read.
how about actually writing a column about local sports? you're the local sports reporter, right? don't you know interesting things about the local sports athletes, coaches, etc. that would make a more interesting column than this? there are so many great kids and parents and coaches involved in the local sports scene, why don't you write about them?
kingride - the point is that the field has yet to be cleared. if it had been, today's winds wouldn't be a problem. the warm field would be able to handle and drifting. but since it hasn't been cleared, the winds/drifts could be that much more of a problem. they actually prompted the post. but nice try at the smart-aleck response.
