West Routt Fire seeks more money

West Routt fire protection is way underfunded boatbug? For just another $8.00 a month, a fellow's house in Hayden won't burn down ... and this will make all the difference in the world? How do you know this? Have you done your research? So all of a sudden the fire department can't work without a mill levy hike... equipment is shot? Working off the same budget for 31 years? Wow! I don't know of any government agency that has done this? Boatbug you have got to be kidding about the Hayden School tax sunsetting in four years. I have yet to see a school district mill levy be retired, they just seem to roll over and keep going? Boatbug not another $8.00 a month ... How about another $24.00 per month for down the road for when other taxing authorities put their hands out as well! Boatbug, I have been paying taxes for quite some time. Right now nobody is getting any raises. If the economy was better, more jobs, higher property values, then West Routt could purchase new equipment.

West Routt Fire seeks more money

Just like a broken record player ... The Hayden school district said last year ... $200,000 of assessed value would pay about $100 each year with an increased mill levy. Just another $100, Just another $100, Just another $100. When does it stop? What government agency will be next up to the plate asking for a higher mill levy ... Just another $100 dollars when this is done?

Hayden to ask voters for mill levy override

Saving teachers salaries and padding for any future cuts ... Must be nice to have such an assurance! Everyone I know has recieved a paycut and are not seeing any raises in the future. It is nice just to have a job. Is there a teachers union in the town of Hayden that needs to be paid for. Forget the mill levy override ... Hayden School District, you can take the recession like the rest of us.

Well Thaigard. From what I see of the picture I don’t agree with you. When you say it looks like a dinner party of old folks at Archie's doesn't give any substance to really what these people are doing. First of all, if these people look 80 years old, hats off to them. These 80 year old people fought very bravely for the freedom I have today and that is beautiful. 2. I do believe that they are having a breakfast and not a dinner. 3. I think they are having a meaningful discussion about issues in our country and are discussing ways to improve the country ... That's productive. 4. There spending money at a business and helping the Steamboat economy.
So Thaigard ... I really don't understand anyone would bring up the comment "Republicans look like they are all 80 years old". Aren't these old people beautiful and something to be proud of. They gave you your freedom. I think the photographer took a good picture. Show people working together not Archie Bunker.

Thaigard ... I have looked at the picture again. These people don't look 80 years old to me.

Greenwash ... What do you mean that all republicans look 80 years old? What does that have to do with this article? Are you simple? What I see in this article is Jane Norton giving a speech. There are spectators listening to her and spending money at the Egg and I and they are helping to stimulate the economy. Your comment doesn't do this newspaper any good or this thread. The Today Article here looks good to me. Why the 80 years old comment?

Hayden Town Council to discuss water rates

Hayden is really looking to make lots of money to expand it's government. New police station and police cars is not enough. Russ is not only going to try to raise your water rates once. But he is looking for a BONUE RUN of seeing if he can raise the rates TWICE. I hope Hayden residents don't fall for this. Maybe with tax hikes in water rates, the rest of the Hayden Government can get new cars. And maybe another police officer to write more tickets to collect more fines. Such as barking dogs, cars parked backwards. One barking dog, first offense is worth $75.00. What a revenue generator. Oh maybe I should correct myself ... Not a Tax Hike, but a rate increase. Both amount to the same thing ... More Dollars for more Government waste.

Data collection efforts reveal significant July 4 river usage, littering

Maybe another thought with this issue is to measure why there are so many people tubing, partying and not fishing anymore? Perhaps it is the upbringing of our young not to fish and hunt anymore. I have said earlier that there are more kids in school that can wrap a dope stick or smoke a bong then being able to tie properly a leader, hook and sinker on a fishing pole. I'll just bet that I am right on this. So maybe to reduce the tubing on the river, push some strong outdoor education with getting back into fishing, hunting and enjoying the outdoors. Today you have to be a lawyer and read very carefully the fishing regulations to be legal.
