Rex Brice: Support winter air tax

Correct me if I am wrong, but we just gave the ski area money for the bathrooms in the new stage at the base. Why are we giving tax money to private industry. Now the want us for to pay for empty seats that they can't fill. This is left over ASC mentality. The new financial person is ex ASC. They continue to try and ruin this town. We need new blood there. Vote no on 2B.

Construction, tree removal lead to busy spring for ski area

snozone: Get your facts straight before you spout off. The gondola was built by Resort Ventures. The city had nothing to do with it Other than requiring the public to use it as it crosses a public right of way. Ask the people who stayed at the Trailhead Lodge if they thought it was a lift to no where. Ask the owners at First Tracks. They all loved it. And they are the ones spending the 12,000 you are ranting about. Could have been even better but our money strapped Ski area backed out at the last minute, leaving Resort Ventures holding the bag. I do agree we need to get the city gov't under control. Also so far it has been 2 summers working on this day lighting project. We were led to believe it was going to happen in one summer. I guess they feel they have to spend all 17 millon. Downtown was done for one- third the amount, in one summer. This is what happens when you let dirt merchants run the show. The ski corp wants to build a stage with bathrooms and be reinbursed by the city. Stop this foolishness. Start by getting rid of Krakum and put someone with a better grip on how to run a construction project. City gave them a free ride to spend tax money that could have gone to our schools.

Omar M. Campbell: Let’s vote on pot

Well Fred you should not be telling someone to go check their job site. Did you forget that you had a fatality on your job site? Then had the nerve to contest the small fine given you. And you don't smoke pot. What is wrong with this picture!!!!

Steamboat transit ends late-night service

Get rid of that second Craig bus. Let Craig step up to the plate and take care of their people. They took us to the cleaners on the new bus station in Craig. I would like to know how much of our tax money goes to support that route.

Steamboat superintendent could be headed to new job in California

Mountain biking trail work at Steamboat Ski Area pushes forward

Fortress has milked whatever profit the mt. makes. They barely will have the money to replace the haul rope on one of the lifts. Employees haven't had a raise in years. So don't put all the blame on the forest service. Good luck on getting the money for the trails. The upper management needs to grow a set and stand up to Fortress.

Keep the spin coming Danny. There was a reason Mary dumped that property and you took it. Now you are trying to dump it off on us. 35 acre ranchetts. No need for more water. And didn't you state that that was an option when this fails?

Affordable housing in cross hairs

Thanks greenwash. I am sick of the constant whining that "I want to live in Steamboat but can't afford It". Tough!! All you people want a hand out. After your house then you will want child care. Give me a break!!! There are a lot of us who worked hard and managed to buy here. Steamboat has reached it's saturation point. Go live in one of our out lying areas Besides the 700 there are 2 more developments that are in the same area With all this development will come the time that we will have to dam the Elk river just to have enough water.[ from water study] I have seen what the greed of developers has done to this valley. I do not want to see this happen to the Elk river valley, just so fluffy will have a dog park. As hard as it ay be to accept, west Steamboat should be 35 acre ranchetts. If I remember I think Danny said this was a option if the 700 failed. Please vote no on 700. Save this valley. Save the Elk River valley
