all the paint on the road ...9' travel lane ... 12' travell lane will not change the safety of the road. we are each reponsible for our own safety and it starts with a positivie attitude, cyclist or motorist alike. I just read a lot of negative and pissy attitude in most of the postings so are we really ever going to ever have true safety in any thing that we do in the world?

The bicycle incident at 13th street on Monday at 4:00 pm where Matthew Tello ran a red light on his bike and got hit by a pick-up truck ... "Police did not cite anyone in the crash, Capt. Joel Rae said."

and we wonder why bike riders might not be the most popular of road users.

The Police officer that worked this accident should maybe also get some days off with out pay!!!

My question would be if Senate Bill 244, also known as the Transportation Infrastructure Preservation Act does pass, what keeps any of the money on the west slope for maintenance and improvements. This bill sounds to me like all of the money will end up on the front range and do no good for improvments to roads in Northwest Colorado, the one's that we drive on the most.

Why not give the revenues back to the tax payers? The city has had the half-cent sales tax for quite some time and it came with no sunset. Why not put a sunset on the tax for education and shift it to roads. Some thing that every one in the comunity uses?

I wouldn't care for having to drive to the east end of town to get my mail especially around the ski area base. Maybe the post office could start up home delivery of mail (not clusterboxes) that would actually put the mail at your front door step such as most major cities and then people would use the service and the need for a new bigger postal facility would not be needed.

Just one thing to add - If we are big enough to do the crime then we should be big enough to do the time!!!

"Ski Patrol said that a number of people had skied close to it, and were charged,"

Moose are very aggressive to start with. And very unpredictable. People need to get educated about the wildlife and the damage they can cause.

Maybe the Steamboat Ski Area should have shut down for the rest of the winter to avoid disturbing the Moose.

Triple Crown Sports is a Fort Collins-based business - they must be making money if they are a business.

(Triple Crown's) business plan is to grow and be able to compete with other tournament producers - this should make things easy, if Tripple Crown Sports wants to stay they a business should foot thier own bill and build a complex and leave the city out of it.

notmybus 5 years, 7 months ago on Will you vote for Routt County Referendum 1A, which requests a tax increase for road improvements and future county needs?

If we keep voting against taxes for transportation how can road improvements be funded. Maybe toll roads so the people that use the roads are the one that pay for them and if we don't use the road then we would not be paying for it?
