I am not in favor of licensing naturopaths. I am not aware of anything that naturopaths do in the scope of their practice that causes harm to the patient. When the licensing starts so will the ones handing them out start to regulate what naturopaths can and can't do. Right now there is so much freedom to practice here in Colorado. For those afraid to do so without a license there are ways to word what is said to not be outside of the law and still practice. From what I hear the desire to license has more to do with financial concerns of being able to more freely file and collect insurance money from patients. Of course many wanting this type of money may not realize all of the extra paperwork that goes with it. Then again, the desired treatment may not be considered reasonable and customary any longer after licensing and therefore not covered.
