Yes, give back to the employees, that's what keeps this town going. Advertising is good, but you couldn't do it without the employees of this really screwed up town. The city furloughs and cut to the bear minimum budget wise and then has a $750,000 surplus. I think they need to hire a new accountant. The city is going to loose good people over this.

Driving is not a hard job, except here in Steamboat. I've been driving through that intersection for 20 years and it not confusing. Both people in this tragic accident had been drinking and that is usually the problem in Steamboat. And as for pedestrians having the right of way when crossing the street, that does not apply when crossing the road against a green light, check the laws. You can't expect a car going 45 mph to stop for a person crossing when she has a green light. It's a real bummer for both parties envolved.

If you would read what you wrote on Aug 2 @ 7:40 am everyone who read that would have thought you were a bus driver. Maybe you should smoke some more dope before driving our guest around Steamboat, maybe that's why the taxi drivers in this town can't driver worth a crap! This article and law doesn't have anything to do with drunk driving or riding the bus while drunk. You don't have a clue at all. Go back and read what you have written and you will be confused as well.

No I'm not, but you as a bus driver think you are special it sounds like. If the bus is 5 min late it's not the end of the world. Buses can wait just like any car that has to merge into traffic, your not special. The reason why people speed up is to get in front of the buses because no one wants to get stuck behind them. Buses are usually trying to take up 2 lanes and don't usually follow the speed limit, they are usually go very slow. Drunks just don't ride at night either.

What a stupid law, your telling residents of Steamboat if they don't yield to a city bus you will fine them. What about police cars and fire engines, no one pulls over for them, but I guess that doesn't matter, it's just an emergency, someone might be about to die, but the bus can't be late to bring the drunks home. What a joke. If you had good bus drivers the mirror slapping wouldn't happen.

George you have great arguments, and we all feel bad for Bob Bear, but some common sense needs to be used by all. If your crossing Hwy 40 at Ski Haus and the walk sign turns to don't walk you don't stop on the center median, that's just dumb. Also as far as all the people crossing at 3rd. St. no one ever uses the cross walks at either corner, which means everyone is breaking the law as they J-walk across 3rd. St. Cars are only legally required to stop for pedestrians if they are in a crosswalk. I do agree with you about safer crossings across Hwy. 40.
