Flip that AFC Championship game score and give the Pats 28 to Green Bay's 24 in the Super Bowl and then you've got it, Luke! As a side note to the Curse of Paul Posluszny, I think the Bills' record was even worse when you were actually wearing the jersey - did they ever win a game when you had it on? Nice work with the Packers pick last year, by the way. Here it is, for the doubters: http://www.steamboattoday.com/news/20...
I've posted the April 2005 report by Boulder-based Stratus Consulting above. Fritz Holleman has provided water counsel for the city since 2003, along with his colleague Glenn Porzak. Both men are partners with the Boulder legal firm Porzak Browning & Bushong and work on water issues with clients across the Western Slope. For more on Holleman and his recent presidential appointment as an advisor to the Interior Department, see Tuesday's story, here: www.steamboattoday.com/news/2011/may/...
Janet Hruby clarified Friday that a crane is a better example of the 90,000-pound machinery that could be used, rather than the term "ladder truck" she used in Thursday's meeting.
Thanks for letting us know. I've added the document directly onto this page and was able to download it that way. Hopefully that method works better. Give me a call if you continue to have problems.
Chickadee, The sentence "the county's cost could approach that number," hinting at potential legal costs of $1 million, has been removed. It was an unfair leap on my part. John Merrill told me today, as he is quoted, that $600,000 is a low estimate. Any projection of a high estimate would be speculation. I apologize for any misconceptions. Contact me anytime if you'd like to talk more.
Hi JJ, Thanks for the comment. I was there last night for City Council's discussion of how to align the city's ordinance with new state regulations. I heard and took note of your comments, as well. I agree that a mention in today's newspaper would have been appropriate. I chose not to do so because of space (in print) and time constraints. Also because of the preliminary nature of the discussion, which will continue with the Planning Commission and again with City Council when formal revisions to the ordinance are prepared. But you are correct, several newsworthy issues arose, especially in light of the high reader interest and our recent series, "Growing Pains." We're planning a story on some of those issues for Friday's newspaper and website. Contact me anytime if you'd like to talk.
To take this off-the-cuff exercise one step further, about 380 teams are scheduled to come to Steamboat for Triple Crown events this summer. Assuming 10 families per team - which is simply a guess on my part - each family would have to spend a little more than $570 in Steamboat Springs to reach the $2.17 million figure.
All, An earlier version of this news brief, which is published on page 10 of Monday's Steamboat Today, incorrectly stated that Wild Horse Gallery in downtown Steamboat Springs also is closed. That is incorrect. The gallery is open for appointments, by calling 970-879-5515. The gallery at 802 Lincoln Ave. will resume its regular hours on May 18. Those hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. My apologies to owners Shirley Stocks and Richard Galusha for the error.
That quote is from David Baldinger Jr., not Jon Quinn. From the story: Baldinger said Wednesday that although the entire country is experiencing a tight lending environment, U.S. Bank’s request is over the top. “To ask for this additional pledge of reserves...."
