Reisman defeats Solomon for District 2 seat

Ken Soloman's arrogant comments are just another reason why the voters said no to him , and they sound like real sour grapes- experience with an attitude is not what anyone wanted. Good luck to Kenny, he has and will work hard sans arrogance!

Hermacinski re-elected to City Council

Engelken barely won against a weak no-experience candidate, If I were him, I would take a real look at that. hopefully he will see that he needs to work with differing views- not attack. He needs to break himself free of Kevin's anger and attack mentality. We should wish him good luck as we need to wish good luck to all of council. Its ridiculous to think that the Pilot or any other news media made a difference in this election. Kevin's past and present actions caught up with him - only 36% of the vote ! that should tell you something!

Hermacinski, Reisman, Engelken win City Council seats

Boat Native - you are way off , sounds like sour grapes- this was a sound win for Cari and yes people did remember what it was like years ago - thank goodness. congrats to Kenny for an excellent campaign and to Jim and Walter - we now have a diverse responsible council, no more games, no more dividing people - just differing perspectives. Lets wish the new group good luck and lets support them.

City Council candidates discuss local economy

Karen, excellent comments. We need leaders to have open minds, no agendas, willing to look at the greater good, not just at their biases. City council cannot do it all - nor should they. However they need to encourage other groups to thrive and to be creative. More cooperation, less ego and anger at groups that differ in opininion. Continued transparency and less "backroom deals" as we saw in the past councils. If we are to get our younger adults in our community to get involved and to vote, we need leaders that will work with them, not talk down to them.

Hermacinski says record speaks for itself

Newspaper Journalism is to get to truths regardless of how difficcult. Isn't it interesting that there has been no information on the cost to the city over the Kay Sieverding feud with Kevin. Isn't it interesting that the paper never wrote about that Kevin had a felony record - it took the Rotary to get to the truth? - If you apply your reasoning, we the public should be upset that the paper did not uncover these truths - contrary to what Kevin says, to get a conviction of a Felony - it ain't the first time baby! You just whine Steve when it doesn't go your way. Any question that gets to the truth is good. Like the deceptions that Kevin advertised aout Haymaker... and Fish Creek reservoir and on and on - do you really want all of this past to come forward? I don't think so. the paper has a difficult job - it would be less so if we didn't have all of this attack mentality that is going on.

Polarizing Bennett seeks return to council

snowbow, this is not about Cari - its about Kevin. Heck, I live in the country and can't even vote. The fact is many people have short memories, Kevin hurt alot of people in his tenure and he was as decptive then as he is now. Yes, during the time he served good things were done, alot of money was spent . I resent that he is taking credit for so many things he didn't participate in or in some cases opposed. I do admire that Cari is straightfoward and transparent. I do not repsect decption. She treats those who oppose her views well - they are not her enemy. Kevin has been a bully. Every other political person is held accountable for how he or she does things - why shouldn't Kevin be?

Polarizing Bennett seeks return to council

Its too bad that the Pilot did not do more research on the many executive sessions and backdoor meetings Kevin had during his tenure. If the Pilot had talked to other council members, past staff and county commissioners they would have found out much more information as to how difficult Kevin was to work with. As a member of the public attending many of those meetings, I watched with dismay how he treated others that disagreed with him. He constantly would take credit for work other people did and was terrible to staff in public meetings. My husband was victim of many of his rantings. Anyone intersted in how much money was spent by the City because of his feud with Kay Severding? I am curious, Steamboat Pilot why are you silent on that issue? The City should have never been in that neighbor feud. Kevin throught he could use his power of being President to involve the City and it cost thousands of dollars of taxpayer dollars to end this feud.

Bennett defends voting stance

Both Kevin and Jim are using quotes from Ken Brenner as a backer, of their campaigns- need we say more! Thank you Steamboat Pilot and today for printing this article to begin to uncover more truth's. We know you are taking quite alot of heat for this. When one bases his campaigns on attacks, deceptions and untruths - you finally start getting what you deserve - to be uncovered. We do not need to go back to this kind of leadership - it takes away any possibility of preserving our community for the long haul.
