I wanted to say thank you to all the staff of the YVMC ER that was working Thursday evening. I brought an individual to the emergency room that was in really bad shape. Upon entering the door and asking for a nurse, I was instantly helped by many people. Due to their high level of professionalism a young life was saved.
Gus, Right on! I totally agree. There is a big population for Steamboat citizens that for what ever reason do not want to buy a house. For instance, a couple that is just moving in together, for the first time, SHOULD not buy anyhing big together. Or, CMC students, these idividuals are here to go to school not buy a home.
For those of you that think that a person can buy a house for the time and if need/want be sell it, have you ever tried it? I personally know people who suceed in the sale and some who do not and are now in horrible debt.
Lastly, why should we have to buy a house in order to "afford" steamboat?
Id, I have two quetions/comments for you. First, are you one of the people that complains when the plows are in your neighborhood at 5am? I imagine you would like to have all the smow moved with out haveing to deal with equipment on all of the roads. I also imagine that you hate to be awoken to a plow truck in the early morning hours, but what all the roads clean when you drive.
Second, what do you propose the employees in the construction industry to do during the winter months? I doubt they want to take a great pay cut just so people can enjoy the sights with out the distraction of construction.
Kudos to all the workers in steamboat whether you work on a construction site, for the city, in a hotel, etc.

Man arrested for assaulting officer
I cant say that I wouldn't be a little upset if I had to sit in a snow bank and wait for my ride to jail too.

The Record for Jan. 9
Why is it that at that an intoxicated individual causing problems was escorted home and not to jail? Shouldn't he have been arrested for public intox?
