Even though this is a fun app, I'm sorry but you did not go 77 mph down lower Valley View. Or do 80-some down Heavenly Daze. Some of the fastest skiers in the world do about 90-100mph on REAL mountains with REAL vertical in places other than FlatBoat. And where is your fancy race suit?
Maybe you and your buddy can hit on tourists at the bar by showing them your schweet iphone app and how fast you went, there is no doubt they will be uber impressed. Too short of a distance to be accurate. Sorry, you guys just aren't that cool.
Now what are we gonna use to clean up after our dogs?
20 cents a bag is a little steep, but this concept is awesome! It will help cut down on the amount of bags people are using at the store and encourage them to BUY their own re-usable bag unless they like to pay extra every time... Not that many people in this world recycle; we need to force them to make different choices.
I was ok mentioning I used to sell it because it has been a very long time since I had anything to do with this stuff. I no longer have any kind of connection to the business aspect of the topic being discussed, my hands are comfortably wiped clean.
You are correct Muck, herb has lost its value, but that is simple economics of too much supply compared to the demand.
My point here is that lots and lots of people were selling it before dispensaries, now there is almost no need for street level dealers. If your concern is your kids and "non card holders" getting ahold of it, I would suggest letting dispensaries continue because it would actually be in your favor of controlling those things.
Dispensaries at least offer some level of regulation AND our government is making tons of tax money on something the citizens of our city and nation do EVERYDAY, ANYWAY! I think if everyone was honest, the number of smokers in our town and nation would be staggering. And it could really help a lot of people's lives out that do really need it for medical purposes. Too bad our country views it how they do and make people feel like drug users on the level of crack junkies comparatively.
Its funny that in a time of governmental financial crisis we are turning away something that could literally save our asses.
Bottom line is that dispensaries are actually a step in the right direction for regulation on the entire industry, and most likely making it harder for your kids to get it.
LEGALIZE IT - IT JUST MAKES SENSE.
Since I am anonymous here, I will admit that I sold pot for a long time - until dispensaries opened, when the demand for street level sellers was basically eliminated. I am happy to not be a part of that anymore, but If we close dispensaries, there will be lots of people selling it again just as it has happened for years and years.
Dispensaries or not, people will still smoke and still buy it from where they need to. Our town makes lots of money on this and the industry has created plenty of legitimate jobs.
The simple solution should really be nationwide legalization, tax it like crazy and let everyone be. TONS of people smoke - more than you probably think.
Opponents to MMJ act like they are selling heroin here. GET OVER IT PEOPLE, we are making this much more BS than needed
JUST LEGALIZE IT!!!!!!!!!
Aren't there better things we can spend our time on?
It's too bad everyone has to be so critical and upset with Alohas. They are a legitimate business trying to make a profit like any other business in this town/country. Successful businesses often do lots of advertising, he is doing just that. Yeah it might be in your face, but that is the goal of advertising; for you to look at it and react to it and know that businesses name in your head all the time. Not everyone is going to like you, that's business and life. Go pick up a Westword in Denver and look at all the MMJ ads in there. Why no crying about that stuff? They are other legitimate companies advertising so that you come in. Yeah if you are not an MMJ patient, the Aloha's ads might hurt your feelings. I would say they have done well for themselves... their name sure does come up a lot.
Does anyone know what time the meeting is for banning alcohol and tobacco dispensaries?
Oh wait, there isn't one?
OK, well those products must be safe and not a worry for our community and children. Glad we are going to try and ban MMJ, because that stuff is dangerous!
It will never pass in this town - sorry Lisa, but you won't be getting your way!
Its good to see that Herman is going to see some jail time, but 10 days? THAT IS WEAK!!!! For shooting a dog to death in a neighborhood with kids? Sorry Herman, but you should have been sentenced to a whole lot more. Who seriously does anything like this (shooting dog), and ESPECIALLY in Steamboat? The punishment should have been considerably harder!!!! I am happy to see a small amount of justice served here for the Arnone's, but this still just isn't right. I have confidence that the powers of the universe beyond our control will take care of everything for Herman eventually.
I'm trying to work here - but I cant seeuski behind all that construction equipment.
Have any of you talked with the business owners around the Torian? Some of them have different feelings here...
I agree that a nicer base area will help us out and give a better image to visitors. No matter what business you are in here, there is a round about way we all depend on visitor dollars no matter if it is a direct impact to each business or not. I am just not convinced that a mega heated sidewalk is the answer to draw them in.
Its great that our base area doesn't look like all the other resorts; it offers a different setting. But do we need an improvement down there? Yes. Is this the best answer? Let's dig up the river and see because there isn't much we are going to do now except watch it come together.
