Wow, when I read this my thoughts went in a totally different direction, so this will seem out of place, but I was impressed with the friend's willingness to put himself in harms way to help his buddy. Whatever they were doing to bother this man, if anything, the friend who was stabbed should be commended on his bravery during this situation that should have never happened.
To the library staff, adults must be closely monitored when in the teen area, and NO ONE should ever be allowed to sleep there, ever, anywhere in the Library! This should have been taken care of even before the man fell asleep. His presence in the teen area in disturbing at best, and the results of this situation put way too many people in harms way. Now we have people talking about bring guns into the library because you let a transient sleep.
I'm pretty sure it is the Winter Sports Club who runs and collects revenue for the Howelsen tubing, hill, similar to the Alpine slide. Prices are set by them, not the City.
I still disagree with you Scott. The freezer wasn't discovered or noted until Sept 2, after which they shut the restaurant down in 2 weeks. If the only violation had been the bathrooms, it may have never been shut down and the fines would have been sufficient, we'll never know because on Sept, they found the freezer and decided the place was unfit to serve food.
The inspectors went back repeatedly of the course of a few months for the non-compliance of the bathrooms, but they discovered the walk-in on Sept 2, and the restaurant was shut down within 2 weeks of that discovery.
I agree with you Scott, and I believe they did just what you are asking of them.
A child doesn't have to attend a private or religious school to be taught creationism, they just won't be taught it in the public school. IN fact, there is ALOT that isn't taught in the public schools. THIS is where parents can/should step up and supplement the education of their own child - which every parent should do regardless of the school - you don't need to remove your child from the public school and you still get what you want.
You can take your child to church, Sunday school, or enlighten them on your own - all for no additional cost - except of course the donations the church asks for.
If the public school isn't emphasizing reading enough for your family, read at home. If the public school isn't teaching your child how to speak Chinese, do it yourself. And if the public school isn't teaching creationism, bring them to church!
The public schools are designed to give every child attending an equal opportunity to learn a basic and diverse set of curriculum so that they can compete later in life and become productive adults, not what to believe spiritually. That is on you - the parent.
So I like punctuation - what's wrong with that?
I am merely saying - which you do not address - that to say "true sports fans" do not like soccer shows your lack of knowledge about soccer fans.
and I lost? Lost what? You agreed it was for pansies - I challenged you to try the sport. Not just kick around a ball in the back yard - anyone can do that - same way that throwing a football around is not playing the game. Go out and mimic a steamboat high school girls soccer practice and see how you do - I say mimic because I assume they wouldn't let you practice with them - and again - I believe you and most others out there - including myself - wouldn't last 10 minutes. I never played the sport but gained alot of respect for it when I actually attended a World Cup game four years ago.
Now would you like to address the "true sports fan" comment - or just laugh at my hyphens?
@ Duke... If you had EVER attended any kind of international soccer game, you would never question the fact that the fans are "true sports fans". You show your true ignorance of international sports by saying "Most true sports fans don't watch any soccer".
I understand you might think it is boring to watch, I think American baseball is boring to watch, but as with any sport, the more you know about it, the more interesting it becomes. Take some time to learn about what is involved in a soccer game before saying it is just for kids and women. Better yet, try playing...Jaded bets you wouldn't last 10 minutes.
As for attendance numbers, you are right, it still doesn't compare with the big 4 here, but it IS growing, and fast.
Can we get a little more of a description please? This is Steamboat...
Just to be sure I read correctly, we will be sponsoring them with the same amount if $ as previous years and with the same amount of field improvements, but with "an immediate reduction in volume"? How much reduction in volume? Less tournaments or less people coming to each?
Just to be sure I read correctly, we will be sponsoring them with the same amount as previous years and with the same amount of field improvements, but with "an immediate reduction in volume"? Seems a bit off.
