You've got to be kidding! Only $10,000 bond for a man who is alleged to have sexually assaulted a boy numerous times! In the previous story it was reported that he assaulted the boy on the drive from Denver to Steamboat & then almost every night for a week. $10,000 seems to be pretty damn low for the type of pain that this boy will suffer for the rest of his life. So now he's free to do whatever he pleases for another month at least. Let's hope & pray that there are no more victims within that time frame. My thoughts are with the boy & his family.
What a tragedy. Everyone who knew Geno knows how kind he was. I'm sure the Oak Creek community will be able to pull together after this. That's something I think we're all good at. God bless Geno & everyone affected.
I agree musknosumpin, he needs to go away for a very long time this time. We are a small but tight knit community and we do not deserve to have people like that lurking around our families or hurting their own. He should have had harsher punishments the first, second, & third time he violated the restraining order. The victim was definelty not protected in this case. The saddest thing about this is the fact that she will be forever traumatized by this and so will her small child. Just imagine this poor child having to see her mother go through this pain. Our community deserves to be protected by punks like this with harsher punishments or they will just keep thinking that they can get away with things, like this guy did.
I was there but there's no way in hell I'm going to answer your question. You seem to twist comments into spiteful responses. Either way I answer that question I'm sure you'll have something cruel to say about it. Look to the paper for your answers because you won't get them from anyone here.
80488mom: Thank you for your support. I'm sure we will all learn from what happened. I can tell you now that we all appreciate our lives and everyone in our lives very much more today than we did before. We all know that people will say hurtful and heartless things, but we stand by eachother and will learn and heal with eachother. Thanks again for everyone's support. It means more than I express.
dundalk: Wow. Nice going. Obviously the loss of cvajks03's family member has pushed her over the edge. What a concept that maybe she is very angry over her loss. And that's pretty spiteful to remark about her spelling. My God, could you not come up with anything more clever?
cvajks03: You are right. No matter what's done, things like this will always occur. If any campaign helps someone thats great, but for our area I dont think it will ever change. After something like this happens kids chill out for a while, but then it's back to square one. It will never change. Everyone will have their different viewpoints (no matter how cruel), but know that everyone is thinking of your family. You have an entire community rallying for Chris and Sam and their families. Look to that instead of the negative, thoughtless, immature comments being made towards the boys. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
dundalk: There was no egging either of those boys on when it came to them jumping. I'm sure if they knew they were about to die they wouldnt have been doing it. No one was daring them to do anything. Where the hell are you getting your information? Or are you assuming? Everyone is doing a damn good job assuming things.
123now: When I first moved to this area I made some friends and we used to always go up there to party and drink. The funny thing is that we always had a D.D with us just like we did last Saturday night. Actually there was two adults that werent drinking so that they could drive people home. We were making sure that we could have a good time w/o worrying about who would drive. And to think that was the least of our worries. It just goes to show that anything can happen at any time. It's just so strange that people go up there all the time to party, but this night was so very different. I want to say thank you to everyone for all of your support and concern. To those who only have bad things to say: You have a right to your opinion eventhough it's heartless.
I was present with both of these "adults" at the party and I have shared all information with authorities. Rio Blanco is taking care of the situation. Please leave it in their hands to judge wether or not any charges need to be filed or if either of those adults acted inapproriatly. I can't say it enough, you werent there. A lot of things are being said purely from opinion and rumor and it's hurting a lot of people. I know you have a right to your opinion, but it still hurts.
