Bravo Kathy. Most intelligent comment so far. These were the boorish actions of simple drunks. Disregarding the comments of our local "good ole boys", I think you will find that most "real cowboys" found this incident repulsive. They endangered the horses, themselves, and the public. As for the tasering, I will trust the officers on the scene. Personally, I don't have a problem tasering all public drunks.

Hope your daughter is doing better Ms. Watts . We do have a great group of dedicated emergency responders, and we should not take what they do for granted. They are embarassingly undercompensated for what they do, considering the level of training and commitment necessary to perform their duties.

In this current climate of attacks on public sector jobs and collective bargaining by the right, lets not forget how much we depend upon them to be there when needed. They deserve better from us, and we need to make sure that our policy makers understand this and support them fully.

Moral dilemma? Is this guy really taking the position that the voters rejecting the ban on mmj dispenseries is in someway a moral failure? Use tax revenues from the sales of mmj to fund Grand Futures? And no thought regarding that maybe tax revenues from the sale of alcohol should be used in the same way.. The only moral failure that I saw was the hypocritical position that was at the core of the ban follks position. As pointed out repeatedly, this community has a far more serious problem with alcohol. But I still have not seen any movement on the part of Ross and his like minded cronies to show any concern regarding this drugs problems. In fact, I 'll wager that while Ross was trying to avoid smelling some funny smelling smoke, he did so while holding a beer in has hand.

"MMJ guys are not really known for following the law". Please elaborate on your charges Steamboatsprings. Scott, and others, have pointed out that it is the anti pot crowd that have chosen to circumvent the election reporting requirements by not registering, and we get this, from the towns self appointed cheerleader. The anti MMJ crowd has demonstrated the willingness to play fast and loose with the facts. But to say that the pro MMJ is known for not following the law, is nothing, if not a bold faced lie on the part of Steamboatsprings.

Just read a survey published by Reuters that was done by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration that does seem to support Conner and the other anti mmj crowds contention that mj use is up in states that have allowed the legal use of mmj. The same study also found that Meth use has decreased by 50%, Cocaine use down from 2.4 miiion to 1.5 million. Lo and behold, this study also found Alcohol use by 12 to 17 year olds decreased 13.6%, and significant decreases in Tobbacco use. Could it be that, rather then being a "gateway drug" (can't believe this crowd still brings out this discredited canard), mmj has provided a safer alternative to the use of drugs that are truly dangerous, and have the biggest detrimental impact on our community. You know, the ones that Rae, Hayes, and Wiggins seem to not have a concern for. Or Grand Futures. Or the esteemed MD's in town.

"Piped Pipers". Thats cute Doc. These pro ban folks are truly shameless in the tactics that they are willing to use to pursue their social engineering agenda. Not only do we get subjected to accusations that the anti ban folks are participating in voter fraud for encouraging citizens to exercise their constitutional rights, we now have another "good" doctor attempting to portray users of mmj as pied pipers trying to lead the innocent children into using pot.

Excellent letter John, wish you were still going to be a part of CC. Just finished filling out my ballot. My council decisions based solely upon the candidates stance on this issue. Myller did not get my vote . "Potheads"? Thats great Doc. Tells me exactly where your coming from.
