Oak Creek neighbor concerned about strong marijuana odor

Dear Scott, I retract my apology to you. Nothing you do in Oak Creek impresses me and I don't care if you think I suck. You do absolutely nothing to make Oak Creek a better place except complain. You insult people that try to make the town a better place and stand on a pedestal looking down on everyone.

I suppose if one hour must define my life for all time, I will just brand myself and deal with eternal damnation.

You want better infrastructure? Why don't you start looking to solve the problem instead of adding to it. I would love to wash my car at your car wash but you won't pay the fees to get it up and running. That money could help fix the infrastructure. But it is too high, too unfair and too troublesome, right Scott? What is hilarious, Scott, is that you wanted Jacob to pay to fix up your property for you - how is that different that applying for a grant?
Look around town for my public apology Scott. It will be at the post office & town hall tomorrow morning.

Oak Creek neighbor concerned about strong marijuana odor

I am sorry, but I said I didn't have a problem with medical or recreational marijuana. I just wish there was a better light industrial park in Oak Creek for anyone to grow or make whatever they want, but I understand that there isn't. Zach left that out. I said one thing two weeks ago and it gets blown out of proportion into an entire article, I don't know where he came up with the "once a week". I never filed a complaint, nor do I intend to. It was a 30 second comment that was solved at the meeting that turns into this. Muck, sorry you can't read my "quotes" - guess what, the settling ponds are being mitigated and I don't care what you put in your body. I also think you might want to know that they are not a tax paying business, they are a wholesaler, no tax dollars here. Sorry I look like such a jerk in this article, thanks Zach. It was never my intention to start anything worthy of this much attention. I made a mistake and I have apologized to everyone I have seen since that meeting. Dear Everyone, sorry for making a mistake.

Our View: Medical marijuana series aims to educate

Hello~ Lovestoread, could you please link to the Newsweek article you refer to? I searched but could not find it!
You said:
Maybe you should all read the article in Newsweek a while back, about the 500 percent increase of ER visits due to the potency of marijuana these days, and the horrible psychotic problems caused by it, not to mention the actual dead patches in the brain caused by the drugs. Funny how that isn't mentioned.

So figured I should read it. Please link! Thanks!

Routt County commissioners to review salvage yard

dave- it is a junk yard, not a recycling center. you can't go in and buy stuff from them like the milner mall. They haul other people's metal to their house, hold it there, then transport it to denver.

Steamboat family hoping for changes to citizenship regulations

Nina, instead of using your passion to be rude, why don't you use it to respectfully make your point. Most people in this town know folks that have had to go back to their home country because our government has turned down their requests to stay. Yes, people who work hard and want to pay taxes (well...). It is unfair, but you are a poor advocate for this cause, please calm down and educate people politely. I suppose your country has never made mistakes? Do you think it fair to blame all Americans for the legislation created here? I hope not.

Steamboat's Sweet Pea working through compliance process

Scott, you don't just throw up a bathroom attached to an old structure. Katherine and Jonathon are very diligent at PAYING for assistance from local businesses with expertise on the code and clearly, as the article states, there was a communication break-down. They are building the bathroom, paying the fees and admitting their mistakes. Geez Stmbtgrl, I am not a Cari fan, but this is not screaming corruption by any stretch. The track record that Sweet Pea has, citing their business in Curve plaza, which went through planning, is good. And yes, they are employing people who were otherwise unemployed, giving back to the community, supporting local growers, and making people happy. Sorry your friends haven't gotten their liquor license, but it is a totally different issue. we aren't comparing apples to apples here.

Oak Creek woman accused of cruelty to horses

I think the whole point of this story has been misconstrued, though I think Mr. Tai Chi is hitting on a broader point. This isn't a story about whether or not a person (sandy) is good. It is an example of 100s of complaints being investigated by educated people (animal control officers, whom ARE educated, whether you agree or not, that is a fact, working closely with the State Vet) to be sure that the owner of an animal(s) is complying with law. The horses were not taken because the initial charges are a warning to the owner to fix the conditions of the horses (hoofs, weight) and then, if the owner doesn't comply after being warned to do so, the horses will be taken from the owner.
Everyone has failed to mention is that the whole point of the case, charges, investigation is to create a better environment for the horses, which is why the complaints were made and addressed. Not whether or not the owner is a good or bad person. One should only own what they can care for appropriately, whether or not they love or try their best.
Everyone posting should really drop emotions out of this because this isn't about beating up Sandy Wisecup's character. She only seems to be "picked on" because she does and has owned and tries her best to take care of A LOT of horses, which is noble. But sometimes you cross the line of what you can handle. I personally think all the Wisecups I have met are great people but this has nothing to do with them. It has everything to do with horses being cared for to the standards of the state law.

Oak Creek to consider Bicycle track, flea market tonight

Scott, if you would like to see the changes you are discussing here, you need to address them with Planning and/or the Board. Where were you when the Comp and Land Planning meetings were occurring? Armchair ranting to the general public usually doesn't get the job done.

I think the garden and bmx pumptrail are great ideas and have good support. To answer your question about mountain bike trails, you need to explore the Flattops maps for places that allow mountain bikes, there are a good amount.
