Sounds to me Brett doesn't use the bus system or maybe for short trips within the mountain and downtown routes.
Try catching a bus from out west on a snow day..better have full goretex and maybe a down parka, pants and booties underneath. Pack a lunch, book on tape, maybe a novel you've been working on..unless maybe you don't really need to be anywhere in a reasonable amount of time.
Don't try to walk on a snow day, after you've stood on the side of the road for 20-30-40 minutes waiting for the bus. There a no sidewalks clean enough to walk on unless your travelling with snowshoes. So one can be forced to walk( mostly to stay warm) to hopefully get into downtown and then maybe catch a bus that's running on a decent schedule. But if you do that, your going to want to have full neon orange reflective clothing, some knee high muck boots and one hand ungloved so you can flip off the ignorant locals who decide to spray frozen slush all over you!
So yes..the bus is free..and it's been a great asset to many people for many years, but it could be time to pay to play (like it was once)if that's what it's going to take to keep full service going on the outer reaches of the routes.
Better not take the bus to go shopping.
Especially on a snow day..unless you've got full goretex. .head to toe. Especially if your going west of town..35minute waits at least.
Just getting sprayed by Mack trucks and ignorant locals is so fun..waiting..2 and a half hours to do a round trip from ski times square and back..
City council you should be ashamed of yourself..making people wait at least 35 minutes for a bus. Rediculous.. I know there's not a lot of fur collars and 10 karrat
diamonds going west but how about when it's 0°..35 minutes is a LONG TIME! !
Would like to voice a big THANK YOU to all the ski area employees and others who have done all the sidestepping to pack down the ice layer on more than just the sides of some runs..that's tiring, monotonous work.
Try skiing on some of it..like Nelson or twister for example..it's actually skiable. .
Filling rattling and kneecap testing, but skiable...
And when you get back on the groom it feels like butter. So THANK YOU! !
Never seen a crust even snowboarders couldn't deal with..but wow..we've got one..
Could be a good year to brush up on ones transceiver..
Sounds like too many people enjoying too much freedom in one place...move along....just move along...
Using the space for ski racing works for me..just hope it can hold snow in 10-20 years..
no eco - freako undertones implied..
and catamount woulda been sweet. ..
But i don't have a bike..
i could be the timekeeper for the rishi invitational slalom..anyone..?...anyone..?
No really ...
seems like a no brainer..to care..
