Ahhh........, the Jimmy Carter experience.
summerbird, actually there are no less than 33 medical conditions that can cause "Red Nose," and contrary to what you suggest it is not specific to those of Irish lineage. Suggest you do a little more reasearch before you stereotype any ethnic group. As a proud Irishman (Irish-American) who's Grandparents on both sides of the family tree immigrated to this country to make a better life for themselves and their families I take offense to the remark. I can think of one other "Myth" you may actually believe to be true.
Great list Matt, the only problem is that at this time there are no real contenders. As we get closer to the elections, we'll see who the front runners are on the Independant ticket. Until such time when someone credible has a real chance of winning I'll stick with McCain. Otherwise I would be wasting a vote and in effect would end up supporting someone (Obama) else by not voting my conscience for one of the front runners.
Matt if there was a third choice I would consider their positions as well. Unfortunately at this time there is not and so I must follow MY conscience. My conscience says vote for McCain.
Despite all those apposed to his presence I still miss svbor. I enjoyed the links that were supplied in an attempt to substanciate his point of view. I didn't necessarily agree with all of them, however it did expose me to a different perspective and since I try to remain open to other viewpoints I at times found them to be enlightening.
Hey svbor, come on back! Not all wish you gone.
Never cared much for "Married With Children," not even sure if that was the name of the show. Tend to spend more time watching both the History (history major), Discovery, and Nature channels for entertainment. Maybe it's an old far* thing I don't really know. It holds my interest. Have a nice evening.
That would explain a lot! maybe a good #2 would be in order!
A clear your head sort of thing may bring you back to the world of civility vs insult when others don't see your particular point of view. Many including myself respond to civility rather than insults and accept opposing viewpoints as opposing viewpoints rather than insults & innuindos. Try it, you might find people at least are willing to listen to your point of view rather than discount it, they certainly will be more receptive even if they don't agree with it. And yeah, I still miss sbvore (sp), so what? I've also explained about fear or cowardace once before, you have the same offer. Just so we're clear, I fear no mortal man, just my maker. Believe what you will. Should you decide to respond with dignity and respect I will offer you the same. Either way have a good life.
McCain is the lesser of two evils when all is said and done. If for no other single reason he gets my vote because of his experience and position on national security matters. He understands that to "cut & run" is a flawed agenda. National security comes first. Obama just doesn't get it! Toss in his refusal to wear a flag pin (until recenty), rev. Wright, his wifes declaration of not being proud of this country, his guns & relioion remarks, and a host of other eye opening comments and actions and he has lost any consideration I may have given him for my vote.
McCain in '08! Fear? I think not. If you want fear vote for Obama!
