Scott Ford,

Because of this potential legal quagmire that has been mentioned more than once, where is the City Attorney to weigh in on this. City Councils come and go but we have had the same City Attny for decades. If he is not doing the research necessary, why not? Why has the council not directed a full investigation of URA financing regulations by our City Atny as Mr. Bideau has done? Is the city setting itself up for yet another lawsuit to fight--this time with competing govt branches?

This whole situation stinks to high heaven of "insider dealing and favors"!!! Where yet again the taxpayers are left holding the bag.

Thanks John for your vote of confidence but all we really need is our GREAT BIG SIGN so we have no interest in being in the URA district where our big sign would not be allowed. Plus we have lots of our own designated parking which we would not get in the URA to accommodate our many customers. LOL I guess we could move and the Golden Cue could re-open then the URA might be more appropriate. :--)

Who says there was any "reasonable and intelligent person" looking at the data and doing the research you have, Scott. Let the law suit begin!!

Thanks, Scott--They only hear what they want to hear. If a petition goes around town against this ridiculous decision by amending the City Charter, please stop by my house. Seems like if any law suit ends up being filed it would be with the support of the county, school district, water districts, library districts, etc. Too bad we don't have time to recall what may be the worse City Council this town has ever seen---and we thought the Iron Horse council was bad----HA!

I do not think it is lost on anyone that some of the signatories are downtown business owners that will benefit directly on OPM for their private enterprise---Vote NO council---do the right thing representing the taxpayers for a change---PLEASE---We need the tax revenue for our schools and basic infrastructure.

Hallelujah! So proud of the paper for printing such a strong editorial. The citizens who read Dave Kleiber's letter were mortified that such behavior occurred in our beloved town. How about the city issue a request to all current and former police officers and other employees at the police department as to their personal experiences with Rae and DeValle. Such a statement could be signed and notarized. If city personnel guidelines were not being followed then that alone should be grounds for termination of Rae and DeValle---and Hinsvark as well as their direct supervisor. Why the need to spend thousands of $$ for this investigation?

What a bunch of whiners and gossips! I thought the testosterone in the room was bigger than this but guess not. What must DMB think about 100+ posts under her "winning" article and maybe 2 were about her. At least the Colorado State House will be redder this go around and I only hope we see a moderate republican (moving right of center) in Hick with these election results. Even though I consider him to be a hay seed, I have to believe the national sentiment is not lost on him.

As a small business owner having to pay for our policies with no govt assistance you get a big thumbs up from me. We had good policies from Cover Colorado that were cancelled with ACA and now our premiums are double what they were and will go up again in 2015. We are thinking of just dropping insurance altogether and putting the premiums in a savings account and take our chances . . . . .
