Great choice in selecting Stabile for Captain! However, curious to know who was on the interview board when they hired Rae for Police Chief? Or was there even an interview process conducted? I must have missed that article...

Marines ban certain dog breeds as on-base pets

By Jeanette Steele and Christina Macone-Greene

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

“Devil dogs” of certain breeds are being outlawed in Marine Corps housing, including homes at Camp Pendleton and Miramar Marine Corps Air Station.

An order issued by Marine headquarters bans pit bulls, Rottweilers and wolf-hybrid breeds and mixes. Officials at Camp Pendleton, the largest Marine installation in San Diego County, on Wednesday said they might apply for an exemption from the policy.

Families living with the targeted dogs in on-base housing must get their pets certified as “good canine citizens” by qualified evaluators. The certification would expire in October 2012, when the Corps expects to stop honoring waivers.

Marines pride themselves on the “devil dog” nickname, which dates back to a particularly bloody World War I battle.

But the official Marine Corps pooch is a bulldog. The Marine boot camp in San Diego near Lindbergh Field keeps a white bulldog, Molly, on staff and walks her out during graduation ceremonies.

Officials at Marine headquarters in Quantico, Va., said the canine order is meant to “ensure the continued health and safety” of on-base residents.

The Corps reviewed the history of dog attacks at its properties and analyzed national statistics before making its decision, said Capt. Brian Block, a spokesman at the headquarters.

“The rise in ownership of large dog breeds with a predisposition toward aggressive or dangerous behavior, coupled with the increased risk of tragic incidents involving these dogs, necessitates a uniform policy,” according to the order, which was handed down in August.

At Camp Pendleton, home to roughly 1,500 pet dogs, there were three dog-bite incidents reported in June. In two of the cases, a Labrador and a Jack Russell terrier nipped their owners' family members and caused minor injuries. The third incident involved a stray pit bull that severely wounded a teen who approached it, Camp Pendleton officials said.

They stressed that the Marine Corps' systemwide policy change wasn't prompted by dog attacks at installations in San Diego County.

The ban is another knock against pit bulls, a controversial breed that crowds many animal shelters and is often prohibited by landlords and insurance companies.

But any kind of dog has the potential to be aggressive, said Candice Eley, spokeswoman for the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA.

“It's dependent on the dog's previous living arrangement and training,” she said. “It's not just the breed itself.”

What don't people understand about the word illegal? Your President is the most devisive in history. "The police acted stupidly" without taking the time to read the police report, and "Now, suddenly, if you don’t have your papers, and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you’re going to get harassed — that’s something that could potentially happen… That’s not the right way to go." FEDERAL LAW requires that LEGAL immigrants must carry their green card or documentation with them at all times..

The King just made the biggest power grab in the history of our country, and yet he receives applause. This administration doesnt give a damn about the people. If Obama cared so much he would have condemned the Department of Healths press release telling women to wait until age 50 to begin regular breast exams, instead of the Cancer Societies recommendation of age 40. The reason for instilling this dreadful information into todays youth? Billions of dollars in savings for testing costs, and a lower mortality rate for women in the future. Nice guy..

Eternal snow is just a precursor for Global Warming Code Blue. Time is of the essence. Cap and Trade is crucial to our survival now!!! Yeah right. Stuff another cheeseburger down your fat pie hole Al Gore as you burn thousands of gallons of fuel a year in your private jet while spreading your lies. And thanks King Obama for sending a second 727 for Oprah and the wife to catch up with you in Copenhagen in an effort to pursue your own personal agenda. I bet that didnt cost the people much. The eyes work best when they are open..

Okay good. I was hoping to re-stoke the discussion board that would never die. I am really impressed with the superior intellect of people who address others that have differing opinions as nut jobs, dumbos, or whackos.
When somebody can tell me why there was nano-thermite dust (hi-tech explosives) found in samples taken from the WTC wreckage within 24 hours of the buildings going down I may be able to rethink my position. Im not saying that I am certain that the US government was involved. Im just saying that with building 7 not suffering any structural damage and perfectly imploding from the center leads me to believe all 3 buildings were the victims of a controlled demolition. Jet fuel burns at about a maximum of 1500 degrees and the fuel from each jet would have burned out in about a half an hour. Here is the problem. The steel in the twin towers won't begin to melt until it reaches 2800 degrees, almost twice the temperature that jet fuel can reach. This is where the nano-thermite explosives come in. Upon ignition it reaches temperatures exceeding 3000 degrees reducing steel to liquid immediately. This is why there were huge clumps of molten steel found at ground zero that were left unacknowledged in the 911 investigation report. Would our wonderful government have anything to do with this? It is documented fact that in 1941 the Australian naval fleet notified President Roosevelt of the Japanese Fleets proximity and heading towards Hawaii the day before the Pearl Harbor attack. What did he do with this information? Nothing. The reason being that the American people were not yet totally behind the allies and were against the United States becoming fully involved in WW2. As a result of Roosevelt neglecting to notifiy the command at Pearl Harbor of the impending attack, the outrage of the "surprise attack" by the Japenese changed the sentiment of the US citizens and the United States was abruptly brought into the Second World War as a full combatant. The cost of Roosevelts decesion to enter war. 2400 dead at Pearl Harbor. 2752. Would the United States government forsake the lives of almost 3000 innocent people at WTC in exchange for the people of our country getting behind the big U.S. war machines entry into Iraq, to the tune of $195,000,000 per day since the start of the Iraq invasion? That is the question you need to ask yourself.

Great work Chemical Brother. You finally have rendered them all speechless, left only to retreat with their tails between their legs. I think that your persistence was the key to delivering the overwhelming victory. Do you have anything to add before moving on to your next conquest?
