Brian Watterson 6 years ago on Will the $30 increase in the cost of a season pass to the Steamboat Ski Area make you reconsider whether to purchase one?

Three percent doesn't sound like much until you look at the big picture, i.e. taxes, gas, heating, groceries, etc. etc. which are all going up by higher percentages. This may be one more straw that breaks the lifestyle back.

In addition to recognizing MLK day, how about including other great Americans. What about Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, etc. etc. And lets have a separate holiday for both Lincoln & Washington, instead of combining them.

Matthew

Thanks! We actually did not get a good idea on the first clue this year but had to wait until the 6th clue to have a pretty good idea of where we were headed. Looking back at the first clue in the very first line Jayne put in Memorial Park. Rita Valentine Park is a "memorial park" to Rita. Overlooking the obvious?? Who's to know but Jayne, but that is how we think about the clues. We got hung up on the phrase "have a merry chase" and we had some pretty wild ideas with that one. We checked out Casey's Pond can you figure out why??

Good Luck next year and Happy Holidays!!

The Yule Log has been found by Brian & Shaunna Watterson and Shaunna's sister Tammy Herfurtner (the sisters are a.k.a. known as members of the Farrell family). For some background read one of the last comments I made under Clue No. 2.

Actually Mr. Stoddard, the Farrell family consists of 6 people (including spouses) who actively look. We're not blindly digging in every snowbank in Steamboat. In fact, we're not as active as everyone thinks. We've been in Routt county for 5 generations going back to the 1890's, and take pride in our knowledge of the area. This why it's fun for us. The $100 is icing. In having fun, we have never begrudged others for finding it, and are good sportsmen.

Unfortunately there are always a few kill joys who can only whine and drain the fun out of most everything they come across.

Now good luck

A wonderful event ! Keep these up ! They deserve our support.

As for those few that had "concerns" about the 4 point picture. Keep it in the context of an old play, and get a life. Can't we have fun without a few duds searching for a negative ?

Thought the same thing about the picture, just wasn't going to say it.

What a novelty.... dogs on leashes. How far down in the archives did they have to dig to find that one ?
