very good points. It is still a big shame that this couldn't have been done pro bono or come out of the pockets of the offending board members...it would be nice to see them held personally accountable for the $50,000 missing from the budget.
Maybe a little efficiency on the good sheriff's behalf would have been a better strategy at working with the budget he was allowed. For instance keep a 20% reserve of resources (gas, mileage, wage expenditures) for emergency purposes.
His tactics of blaming the previous administration for a budget that he's had more than 2 years to work with and learn how to adjust are frankly childish.
