Temporary short term tax...Ha! Govt needs to tighten their belts and SPEND LESS, just like the rest of us.

I don't mind paying for good service but the people that run these facilities are incompetent. Hahn's Peak Lake has had the access and camping closed for two years! All to simply cut down some trees. For these kind of fees there should be some quality work done...I don't see it.

Yeah! Soak it to the fat cats with every rule and regulation imaginable but then look the other way for a little guys business. While we're at it lets raise the taxes on the owner of Sweet Pea so he can't afford to do the improvements he's being sited for and hire some locals...

The point is the price should reflect the content. You pay for what you get. I know there are many improvements to the mountain that have been made but realistically they are just maintaining what's already there. There is no demonstrable improvement of the things customers see and use.

You think there would at least be a roll-back on the pricing until the Boat has a base area?

Yep, the string of comments certainly sound like a bike friendly community. Steamboat could be a place like bike town USA but come on! Have you been to any of the other destination mountain towns? Steamboat is not even close at this point. It's a great goal but it is going to take a lot more that whining about road manners to make it happen.

Vote out all the incumbents on both sides. We could start by trying to find a few people who are not convicted felons and can figure out how to pay their taxes. The first guy that proposes that congress will have the same health care plan they are saying we need is the guy I'm voting for.

Blaming the guy before you and railing over the past is one of the sure ways to get nothing done and go down in history as a failure. If W wasn't the best guy for the job, fine. But O needs to start acting like a leader or get out of the way. Actually getting out of the way would probably serve us best. If I get anymore hope and change...well, I hope things will change and I'll still have a job. I'm glad to see we have the most transparent, honest and ethical administration and congress ever!

“When President Obama took office in January ’09, I think it’s fair to say he inherited the biggest array of problems since Franklin Roosevelt took office in 1933,” Sanger said.

I'd also argue he has the smallest skill set since Jimmy Carter.
