Next on line question should be: should the Steamboat Pilot shut down their blog area? Would be interesting to see the insults rather, I mean the results!

I understand the concerns of all. Maybe the Pilot should just shut this thing down if they are so worried! No need to get undies in a bunch about it! Who cares! Maybe we can have write ins in the Steamboat Local newspaper or the Steamboat Pirate! Maybe those papers will gain more notoriety! LOL! I may not be posting here any further but, ya never know. I think I stayed a considerate blog. C-ya! ;-)

If Sheriff Wall is found guilty, he should do the honorable thing and resign his position! It is a shame this has had to happen. The general public will blacken the eye of many a good cop because of leadership failures!

aworker4progress, Thanks for the quotes for Granny's comment. That's what was meant but was misinterpret.

All, I'm not for new taxes because; I feel we are taxed to heck anyway! Sometimes, we have to live within our means and readjust priorities. With the way the economy is and the forecast as dim as it is, we should be careful and not squander things.

Steamboatdog, Maybe some of what you say is true but, not all true! Money is the root of evil and that evil rears its ugly head everywhere on the planet! Some forms of corruption are accepted as "ok" in order to achieve goals of the commonwealth in the name of goodness! Still, it's not right but, it happens, like it or not! I try to intervene when possible, by vote or petition! Enjoy the Rainbow Weekend cluster jam! I'm outta here!

Affordable housing in Steamboat consists of a car, van, cardboard box or basement/garage stow-away! I agree with Fred Duckles. Is the city turning to "mafia" type tactics in business to accommodate? (Chuckle) We have graduated from becoming like Vail and Aspen to; we are like Aspen and Vail except, the people here are better! I'm glad I own and have 4 jobs! I feel bad for those who only have a single job with time to play and can't afford housing....NOT!

Condo-dude, Could we drill that high rise into the earth to go 60 stories down? The top floor would only show! (LOL)!

No hablo englase' amigo! LOL! ;-o

No speaka da english friend!

I will do all your undesirable low pay jobs for opportunity to make better life, ok! Thanks yous! And that my amigos, is what I've seen a lot of foreigners do when they come to America! We just need to make sure "everyone" plays by the rules and that we do it without prejudice, White, Black, Latin, Asian, Indian, etc.! I love our diversity of cultures. I wish more people would!

Coloradowoodsy, I think 9 out f 10 bicyclists own cars and pay road and use taxes. They just elect to use the road in a different fashion than others some days! I like to bike when I can but, I bike smart. I don't ride down Lincoln Ave. between 3rd and 10th streets and I respect motor vehicles and the rules. Lead by example! I ride motor cycles too. Maybe a bike tax with licensing would insure more bike lanes and better defined laws for bikes, without all the vague verbiage! No matter what you do, no matter where you go, there will always be something to gripe about if you want to. C-ya!

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem!

Tom3, I think I see where your belief is here however, could you explain?

free rider, I agree but, I'm glad it's summer!

I guess it is getting a little depressing around here! People move here thinking it's going to be a spectacular "dog -n- pony show" and they find the reality of having to slave work so others can enjoy. That trips people out, causes divorce, domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, aggressive driving, not to mention the ever increase and financial pressures of the cost of living and the economy issues or weather! I wonder what's going to happen when things get really bad? The mental health services in Steamboat and surrounding areas are tightly strapped on budgets and over burdened! I have seen a lot here and have seen increases in everything since the 70s. More people, more issues, more municipal service to be rendered. I just wonder when the bubble will break between accommodating people and weakly funded services become nonfunctional.
