What a great team of brothers. I can imagine how hard both Patty and Don have worked to help their sons achieve their goals. Cole and Blake are great athletes and roll models to many. I hope that London is in the picture and I will be cheering them on..Good luck and I have been keeping track of the results and look forward to great news....London bound to the Worsley's.......Penny Fletcher....mom of the Fletcher brothers---- Bryan and Taylor....

Thank you Cindy for putting this mess into a perspective that the American Public can understand and embrace. The fireman and the teachers are feeling the squeeze, not the mention the small independant contractors out there. Small business owners are barely hanging on and are the ones that are feeling the squeeze the most. Tax shelters don't exist any longer for the middle class, The interests of the few in congress who refuse to compromise do need to stop hijacking the interests of the middle class Americans who are already scrapping the mayonnaise jar. Yes it is important to send your voice to Washington write or do call Rep. Tipton and lets stand up and be heard.

SPARKYINSTMBT 2 years, 12 months ago on Ken Collins: Ad was insensitive

I could not be more disappointed in the advertisment that was placed by the Christian Church in our local paper. It saddened me to have to see this. I am not sure that I personally can support their mission of love, forgiveness, and Christianity. My children were freightened and I was at a loss to explain the reason for that ad.....I think this church owes our community an explanation and an apology......

SPARKYINSTMBT 3 years ago on Steamboat, Winter Sports Club make final push for Howelsen funds

I think first of all it needs to be understood that this is not just for the SSWSC. The request to meet the ongoing requirements to maintain Howelsen hill. The SSWSC leases this great facility from the city of Steamboat Springs. It is not just Olympic athletes or SSWSC athletes that use this great hill, it is the general public as well as local residents. It is a reasonable place to take your children to ski, snowboard, cross country, snowshoe. More than that is is an opportunity to continue family traditions. Having more lighting on the face allows for additional night skiing and safer skiing conditions. , the snow making allows for earlier opening dates and safer skiing conditions. It is up to the city, citizens, private grants, public grants, visitors to help get this done. I don't know if most people realize it but Howelsen Hill is part of Steamboats history and is used for so many public events. I hope that everyone can think about our future of our generations and step up and pledge to promote this wonderful campaign....see you at the magic carpet with my future grandchild.

SPARKYINSTMBT 3 years, 3 months ago on Routt County suicide rate hits 10-year high

Thank you to the McNamaras for their honesty and willingness to help educate our community. This horrible tragedy has affected so many families in Routt County this year. Depression Awareness, Recognition and Treatment is what needs to happen to help fight Suicide. Ronna and the team of REPS volunteers have been actively trying to reach all areas of our community. I don't believe that any of us that wake up every morning with sunshine in our lives ,will ever understand the depth of darkness that individuals suffering from depression feel. What causes an individual to actually commit suicide we will never know. Is it a Bleep in their mind, has it been brewing for awhile, do they actually realize it is a final decision. Who knows. Educating our public on this topic and putting the word Suicide out in the open, might be the start to treatment for individuals who are considering this option. I am in favor of putting it on the front page and getting out there to our community. It is time for it to come out of the closet. Thanks to Ronna, Bridget, Kevin, Meghan, and Katie for stepping up to help others understand.

What a traumatic event and this could of had a serious outcome. I certainly hope that the legal system protects the Boyers and that they never need to have fear of this goofball again. I cannot believe that his bail was only 20,000 dollars. That should of been at least 100,000.....

SPARKYINSTMBT 3 years, 7 months ago on Steamboat group's efforts jump to new phase

This is a project that needs to be taken care of to maintain the legacy of Howelsen Hill. Having the opportunity to take our kids to this fabulous facility to play, socialize, ski, learn social skills, and share experiences with other members of our community. The increased lighting is so important for the kids so that they can safely ski during the evening and night races. The snowmaking is necessary to allow the young athletes to stay home and not travel on those early season roads.. Olympians aside this is a Steamboat Legacy and we have all enjoyed it at some point in our lives and we should look forward to generations of continued use......
