Dan Hulslander: Roundabout risky

I don't think these folks have ever seen a real traffic circle in Europe...they are MUCH larger in diameter allowing you to actually get a benefit (not slowing to a crawl to turn) and you have time to see the other drivers intentions.

Ethanol debuts at Southside Station

I'd love to run B20 Biodiesel in my Dodge...it's a great fuel system cleaner and adds a lot of lubricity but I'm not paying more for less BTU's!

What to do with the check

If the premise of reduced taxes via a rebate in this case is a good thing...stimulating the economy, then why wouldn't we do it all the time and make lower taxes permanent? In this case with the dollar being devalued so much it seems the economies most likely to be stimulated are the oil economies, if you spend it on fuel or China, if you spend it on anything else. But hey, we borrowed the money from China anyway so I guess we owe them one!

Are you changing spring or summer vacation plans because of rising gas prices?

Perception is reality in business. If you're spending $1 more / gallon driving for things you have to do, the budget for things you want to do may be exceeded.

Flying less-friendly skies

""It's important for everybody in Steamboat Springs to know that there's some very sharp individuals at that business in these levels," Wirth said. "They're at a place where the status of the national economy does not allow them to raise airfares to the level that would cover those fuel costs."

---Whaaa? A sharp individual would curtail doing any activity that causes their business to lose MORE money. Raise prices and or cut capacity / schedule. I guess it's a race then to see who can lose the most money quickest in the airline biz. I would gladly pay a bit more and get some service, or a least get there with my bag.

Economist blasts Clinton, Obama

Quit...how right you are! If China stops funding our debt, their citizens will be able to enjoy a much better lifestyle and have access to the goods we're borrowing to buy. We on the other hand will have to start living within our means, go through some serious pain and currency devaluation. To the point where we'll be forced to start saving, producing some real goods and have other economies offer us the jobs they no longer want to do, or we can do better and cheaper.

Economist blasts Clinton, Obama

Great then...lets elect one of the Jimmy Carter clones and triple the size of the gov't while we're at it. I for one can't wait to have health care like the Candians and Brits...we'll be taking medical vacations to Mexico I guess.

Chain store conundrum

Maybe the big stores will have to buy you carbon credits so you can drive 175 miles to get to one? Of course you'll get discounted credits if you ride share with someone that has "Affordable Housing"...
