Aside from this birth control and religious nonsense lately why don't we have a referendum on SS and Medicare. At the very least allow all Republicans and others the right to opt out of SS and Medicare and buy their health insurance on the open market as the Ryan budget plan dictates. I'm sure all those that see gov't as evil will jump at the chance. This will cut spending on those 2 programs by at least 40% and bring a balanced budget. ( until Israel forces us into a war with Iran). The last time I checked it is only about $2000 a month for someone over 65.with no pre-existing conditions for health insurance which I'm sure most people over 65 can afford.

Hitler was raised by devout Catholic parents. He got along very well with the Pope which is why he looked the other way as millions were slaughtered. Just think how many people would not have been killed around the world had Hitler's parents used birth control.

The Catholic Church has been against birth control for decades. Fortunately 98% of Catholics ignore this man made law otherwise abortion and teen pregnancy would be on the rise instead of decline. I have yet to see a man get pregnant so it should be up to women to decide what happens to her body and not a bunch of jealous old men. The Right is trying to make this a political issue for the upcoming election. They say they want government out of our lives providing you live your life the way they say you should. They want to tell you what God to worship, who you can marry, who can you live with and whether or not you should have children etc. Freedom is living your life as you see fit. Women health issues should be decided by women and not men in Congress or a Church. Having gone to Catholic School for 12 years I can tell you that the Church has larger problems they are still trying to hide. In January a Bishop in LA had to resign because he fathered 2 children with his secretary. He didn't want to use birth control because it was a sin. That is the logic the Church uses today. Maybe he should have given her a Bayer aspirin to hold between he knees.

Sled when you are at Coulter's hate fest ask the audience how many of them or their parents are on Medicare. Ask if they want to get rid of it and go on the Republican health plan which is "Die Quickly". Obamacare as you put it doesn't fully go into affect till 2014. If Romneycare which is Obamacare is any indication of how it will be received it should have a positive affect.
The health plan that our teachers have in Steamboat is pretty poor even when you compare it to any company or even Medicare. When you have pay out of pocket $10,000 on their salaries to have a baby in this town shows you how poor a plan they have. I had better health coverage in the military which by the way is a government plan as is Medicare and Tri-Care. According to you every ill in this country was caused by Obama in less than 3 years. Where the hell were you from 2001-2009 when our country was run off a cliff by the so called Conservatives. Just compare Bush's first day in office to Obama's. Who got screwed? You can blame him for not fixing the mess in 3 years but you can't blame him for causing it which took 8 years.

They were not forcing Church owned charities to provide their employees contraception. They were exempt from the ruling. It was Church run business, many for profit that were affected like hospitals and universities where the majority of employees were not Catholic. As a Catholic myself I have listened to the Bishops argue for decades that contraception was a sin. Considering that 98% of Catholics have used some sort of contraception during their lives I don't understand the furor over this matter. Most people will do what they want anyway. I think it is called Freedom. No one is being forced to use birth control if they choose not to. However isn't it better to prevent an unwanted child than to have to consider an abortion down the road.
I realize this is an election year and everything and anything will be used to benefit one party or another. This was also a good opportunity for the Bishops to change the narrative considering the Church has had so many problems with lawsuits costing millions and problem priests.

This is a free country and people can go and listen to whom they please however the money would be of better use if it was donated to the Fallen Heroes Foundation. This way the money could be used to help the people who sacrificed so much and had their lives ruined by people that thought like her and have done nothing for this country except promote hate.

Lizard the TSA was started by G. W. Bush and it is a mess, no argument there. We are no safer than we were 10 years ago. We just spend billions for nothing extra. The private sector has been rewarded via tax cuts over the last 30 years and especially the last 10. What do we have to show for it? The top 1% has seen their wealth grow by 270% while the Middle Class has lost. Trickle down economics does not work. The 6 Walton heirs(Wall Mart) inherited more money this years than the bottom 30% of the country earned which is 110,000,000 people. It was all classified as Capitol Gains so they only had to pay a 15% tax. If the Republicans take control of the gov't they would pay zero. Eliminating the Estate Tax and Capitol Gains Tax would add $6 Trillion to the deficit over 10 years. How would they make this up plus balance the budget? They say the will cut gov't waste, Medicare and Social Security.. Which means the poorest of the country has to pay for the richest tax cuts. No wonder why Maserati. Ferrari, and top end Mercedes sales are up 20 to 40% this year.

If you listen to the Rep. hopefuls their solution to our economic problems are to cut taxes by eliminating estate taxes, eliminating Capital Gains taxes, and lowering the top rate to 25% , more deregulation for the banks and the oil and gas industry and more defense spending and maybe throw in another war, this time with Iran.
This is exactly the formula that was used by Pres. Bush which got us in this mess in the first place. The Investment Banks were deregulated which gave us the worst financial meltdown in history, we had the largest tax cut in history mostly going to the top 1% which is exactly what would happen if estate and Capital Gains taxes were eliminated and increased defense spending and more wars.
How do they think by repeating the same policies again would produce a different outcome?

Sled I don't know what branch of the military you served in, probably none, but the Commander and Chief selected the mission that got Bin Laden and the Seals carried out his orders. The Generals just wanted to bomb the compound and the President said no and made the decision to go in and get him. I'm sure if it had failed you'd blame Obama however being it succeeded he gets no thanks. This is what happens when you get all your information from a low life like Rupert Murdock's propaganda organization called FOX. The Bush Administration was a total failure and as far as I'm concerned and the Obama Administration has been a disappointment. Just compare were this country was on the day Bush took office and the day Obama took office. Who got screwed? It was Bush that took us into 2 wars and at the same time instituted the largest tax cut in American history. We have never gone to war in our history and cut taxes at the same time because you need to pay for the stupid wars not borrow the money from China. And don't forget Medicare Part D, bailing out Wall St. Execs and massive deficit spending just to name a few. Obama has had his chance to turn around the blunders of the Bush Administration so it may be time to give someone else a chance however after watching the Republican Debates which turned into the Gong Show I'm not hopeful at all.
