Steve, I don't want to pass on anything to anyone for no reason or for any reason, I was just suggesting that the Doctors' in this country should have some skin in the game with this Health Care Debacle. The rest of us are getting royally screwed and I would like to have the Drs. at the orgy. Would make me very happy if the entire 2700 pages of ACA was revoked but since that is not likely I was merely making a suggestion (we all know what opinions are like and we all have one).

Entitlement - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster ... www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/en... Merriam‑Webster the condition of having a right to have, do, or get something. : the feeling or belief that you deserve to be given something (such as special privileges). : a type of ... I don't have a right to get something or a belief that I deserve anything that doesn't belong to me and I agree SS is not a retirement plan ( I already have one of those) but it is my money and I want it back. I don't want to bankrupt the system I will even settle for straight cash no interest but I'll be damned if the powers that be get a free ride and walk away scott free.

NO of course not. I'm all for free market capitalism. I've never gotten anything for free in my life. I don't agree that Social Security is an entitlement, it's my money give it back to me with interest and I'll be on my way. I wouldn't expect the doctors to work for free but somehow the doctors have been left out of the equation between the patient(us), the insurance co. and the govt. My previous post was just a suggestion and I'm no rocket scientist by any means.

Dan- how about this for a solution. Lets put all those with a pre-existing condition into a high risk pool (like car insurance) and then require Drs. to treat a percentage of their practice from this pool. Just like lawyers work off their school loans doing pro bono work as defense attorneys Drs. can do the same thing a win- win for all and the rest of us can continue on as before ACA.

I have an idea, why not wait a couple of more years for the economy to recover further and then when the price goes up to where it was in say I don't know 2008 we can pay top dollar for riverfront property. Jeez wonder what we could do with the couple hundred grand we saved if we would have bought in '09?

Michael, it's worst then that. Not triple but 4 times, so that the first glass pays for the whole bottle and the rest is profit. This town likes to use the pricing method called "Selective Clientele". Don't worry about the locals, but if someone is going to spend 10 grand on a vacation (as the saying goes) they can certainly afford whatever price we put on the menu.(captive audience). Not the way I use to run my joint but it is certainly the way most around here operate.

OK all you Star Trek fans, lets imagine for a second it's 500 years into the future, oil is all gone since we used every drop. Some Scientist is going to come up with a great new idea. He says hey I found this black rock (coal) and it's a great source of energy. Why haven't we used it before and why didn't those idiots 500 yrs ago exploit what mother nature gave them? How's that for a spin on what Ken said--" We've got to move off fossil fuels and use what the Earth offers in alternate fuels".

They call it military intelligence for a reason. I think that's an oxymoron myself, but he knows how to tow the party line and this is the perfect example of political correctness. Can't think for yourself, don't use common sense, but make sure you adapt, adjust and overcome. Probably the main reason he didn't re-up.

Here's an idea that will probably will not come to fruition. All those on this tread and others are invited to the Vintage Bar (attached to Terry Sports) tomorrow Sat. 2/15/14 after a day of skiing. Say 4 or 5 pm. You can introduce yourself or just say your name is Billy Smith since most of us can't put a face to a name. I know discussing politics and religion in a bar is forboddin(sp) taboo or whatever but that place is usually empty anyway so it could become interesting. At least we could agree to disagree and maybe make some progress. Look forward to seeing you all. Rys Jerry, Dan S&K,John Harvey etc. etc.
