Interesting!

The article says, "Owner Ryan Wood bought the Bill and Cynthia May Ranch in 2007 and has established a natural beef operation, Sweetwood Cattle Co., there."

martinratdog commented, "As a member of the May family this news is EXTREMELY hurtful."

Ken Reed commented to martinratdog, "Your input as a May family member would be very interesting to hear."

The May's had no problem accepting a generous purchase price from Mr. Wood in 2007, yet they and others believe that they somehow still are owed input and pacification?

Yes, interesting indeed!

Valerie,

Well written response. Your letter highlighted something of great importance, in my opinion. It all comes down to your final paragraph...parental involvement.

Sad but true is the fact that the school district can teach and instruct until they are blue in the face in providing what you outlined in your letter, yet end up getting nowhere because parental involvement communicated that "it is no big deal," that "you have the right to use all the alcohol and drugs you want," that "I'll even supply them for you and your friends," that "I'll bail you out and call in favors to get you out of any trouble you get into," and so forth.

Thank you...and keep up the good work!

UntamedShrewd, in your list you left off the name of President Obama, and his "off the record" comment about Kanye West.

Well done, Council.

And isn't it great that in this nation such a transition as this--as well as that of the changing of presidents--can be and is done repeatedly without coups, war, and the shedding of blood!

It's great to be an American!

popcan and stillinsteamboat: it is not as easy as "she signs up for the free lunch for her kids." There really are guidelines, income based, and your records must substantiate it. If you qualify, you get in; if you don't meet the qualifications, you don't.

Pay REAL attention to your kids, their schooling, and what is going on in their lives...you'll be amazed at what challenges you can avoid, and how much all of these areas will improve!

In the midst of all of this, I am glad that the Truth is still out there (check out the way it all turns out by reading the last book in the Bible). A simple summation is: The Man on the white horse wins, and if we are with Him, WE WIN TOO!

Resident, about the final three sentences of your most recent post: that would make too much sense...it is easier for one to gripe and fumigate because he/she is jealous--or simply of the constant negative variety--than to even think such positive thoughts.

Thank YOU for YOUR example!

kielbasa, concerning bombing countries--war is war, and some of that will happen. Breaks my heart, but it will happen. As to "but I'm a guy and it's not my place to tell a woman what she can do with her body"--1) The pro-abortion crowd responds basically the same whether the questioner is a man or a woman; and 2) I, also, believe it's not my place to tell a woman what she can do with her body or, for that matter, a man with his. The aborted child, however, is not her body...it is a child, who just happens, it seems, too have the distinct misfortune of residing within the confines of her body, at a time when it is not convenient to...well, you get the picture.

StbtWatchmen,

You said "the schools set up a protocol that requires them to notify human services and report anything they deem suspicious"... Actually, whether or not schools "set up" such a protocol, it still is state law, and therefore it trumps what some local community standards--or lack thereof--would be.
