Paddlefisher said "I tend to agree with you..its not TC more poor planing.wine fest in middle of one of the busiest weekends...winter traffic is just as bad with the all stop 4whds/suvs.."

At the end of our real problem is Traffic. You can label people as TCers, Skiers, whatever but when you only have 1 road through a city you are going to have problems. Add in thousands of homes via 700 or other projects and the TCers/Skiers won't even want to come to Steamboat anymore.

We can no longer ignore our real problem. How can we keep developing downtown with no solution in sight?

Well lewi if gas prices limited 50 teams from coming this year then 50 fewer will probably be coming next year when gas is well over $5.00/gallon.

Stirrinuptrouble:

Investing in our current ball fields is one thing. Building ore of them at a million a pop for a business that might not even need them or use them is foolish.

We could use that money to address our CURRENT TRAFFIC NIGHTMARE.

1) When did the conversation start about "better" ball fields. I always read it was about "more" fields. 2) Why are they demanding that the deadline be Oct 2009 when their business model is failing them right now and the tournament is shrinking? 3) The arrogance of this Alsburg guy is unbelievable.
4) If Alsburg is in charge of finding TC a new location the entire TC tournament is in trouble. Does this guy realize that Reno is averaging about 95 degrees everyday now. http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USNV0076?from=search_10day

95 degree weather, drugs, prostitution, pollution, crime! Sounds like a good move if you can't get four more fields!

For the record I'm not opposed to TC staying but I'm really not sure why we should deal with the threats of a private business like this.

Ted:

You do realize Sheriff wall could have killed himself, my brother, or your family on his way home that night do you?

You can sugar coat drunk driving anyway you want but an impaired driver is dangerous no matter who they are.

Time to expand transit service to oak creek? north routt? Maybe start with a couple runs in the morning and afternoon/evening run?

"The decision should be based on an evaluation of the sheriff's judgment and leadership."

The sheriff is suppose to serve and protect right? Drunk drivers kill people. Drunk driving with a loaded gun? I'm just glad he did kill anyone or himself that night.

Ok Dream Island residents. NOW IS YOUR CHANCE. Instead of waiting to be tossed on the streets again you have some time to figure out what you are going to do. It's just a matter of time before the next deal comes along. Good luck to you all.

He said he is not considering resignation.

"Absolutely not. There's no chance of that happening," Wall said. "As a matter of fact, the chances are, if my health is good, I'm going to run for re-election to continue what I've accomplished."

And the soap opera continues...............
